Calculating GPA

When you retook a class and replaced an F with an A, were the F and the attempted hours dropped in calculating the new GPA? Or did they just drop the F but used the attempted hours in the new calculation?

Chances of getting a single room

Hey everyone,

So I’m planning housing for the 2026–2027 year and had a question for anyone who has gone through this before.

Right now, I was told that single rooms are full and that the waitlist is also currently at capacity.

My main goal is to get a single room if possible. So I wanted to ask how likely is it to actually get a single room later on? And does the waitlist usually reopen at some point in the summer? People who didn’t get a single right away, did you eventually get one?

Thanks!

Does this mean I still go to commencement?

Hello so I’m a senior finishing this May. But I did extremely horrible in one of my classes but according to my credit hours record I satisfied over 120 hours. Does this mean I still graduate or at least go to commencement and take a course in a summer to replace it? Has anyone else been through this before. I’m freaking out. I haven’t gotten an email from school or anything about not failing but little emails about graduation. My family members are expecting me to graduate but now Idk what to do. Help

1Bed Pet Friendly

Hi everyone!!
I’m trying to plan out for the Spring 2027 semester (long time, I know lol) and I have no idea where to find a pet friendly apartment close to campus. (Utilities included would be amazing but beggars can’t be choosers) Does anyone have any recommendations?
For reference he’s a small 6 pound dog.

Convocation Center Prohibited Items

Ok so this might be a dumb question and pls feel free to remove it if it violates any sub rules. The prohibited items list on the NIU website lists "large cameras". does anyone know how they define a "large camera"? I want to bring my Sony a7 and 70-200mm lens for a grad ceremony but this is the first time I've been here. has anyone been able to bring one in as a guest or are they super strict on what is considered a large camera?
