Charlie Sheens NA beer is lowkey good AF

Has anyone else tried Charlie Sheen's WILD AF? Just got these in the mail and honestly wasn't expecting much from a celebrity brand, but these are VERY solid. I've been cycling through a bunch of NA lagers and this one held its own.

Heineken 0.0 Ultimate

Had to know what the hell this was going to be like, so grabbed a sixer. For those who don’t know what this technically is, it’s a 0 calorie, 0 alcohol, 0 sugar brew with malted barley and hop extract included. I don’t know what process they use to get it to 0 calories considering this has barley in it but, sure. Anyway, I felt that worst comes to worst, it’s just a crushable “hop seltzer” type thing. The pour is absolutely bizarre. Looks like champagne but with no head and only lazy bubbles. Eventually they all disappear from the edges of the glass, leaving behind this extremely odd looking pale orange-tinged beverage. Obviously it’s totally clear given that it’s basically hyper diluted force-carbed NA malt beverage.

The nose is surprisingly reminiscent of Heineken. It has that familiar earthy floral hop aspect right upfront with a hint of the old Heineken “skunk” (I say this affectionately of course) for good measure. A bit of light cereal grains and corn sweetness pop out as well.

Taste is, again, very bizarre. It actually feels like a Heineken 0.0 cut 75/25 with tonic water or something, totally muted but somehow still retaining just a slight hint of corn-barley blend maltiness to give the very vague sense of this being beer. Finish is crisp, quick, clean, and a bit hoppy too but more of a neutral bitter aspect, not quite a “flavorful” one.

Very strange. Kinda good in the sense that I don’t think there’s anything really like it on the market (please let me know how wrong I am about this though) and it fills some kind of niche that I wasn’t even sure existed. If you’ve ever drank a hoppy seltzer but thought to yourself, “what if instead of Cascade/Simcoe/whatever aggro IPA hop du jour it used Saaz and also had a tinge of grain to it?” then uhh, I guess this could be for you. I will probably drink the other five fairly contently and go on with my life knowing that this was a weird thing I guess I’m happy to give a shot to, and not something I absolutely need more of by any stretch.

Anyone else had this? Thoughts?

What's your reason for drinking NA beer? Curious to hear everyone's story.

What's your reason for drinking NA beer? Everyone seems to have their own story, and I'm genuinely curious what brought people to the NA side. Whether it's sobriety, health reasons, or just preferring it, let's hear it.

As for me, I've always loved beer but traditional beer just didn't agree with me. Even the smell of a regular beer was enough to turn my stomach. I'd feel lightheaded and drowsy after even a small amount, and it would literally take me all day to get through a single bottle. A six pack felt like a lifetime commitment. NA beer lets me enjoy the taste and experience of beer without any of that, and it's honestly been a game changer.

Anyone Lifelong Teetotal?

Hey there folks, I'm 18 and have always drank NA beer as I don't want to touch alcohol due to my Dad's history with the stuff and knowing that I have an addictive personality to stuff. Anyways, I know a lot of people who drink NA are recovering alcoholics (props to all of y'all) but I was wondering if there anyone who's never had alcohol that drinks non-alcoholic?

RationAle Brewing - Check In Before You Drop In 🤙

Hey r/NABEER community! Tyler Fay here, one of the co-founders of RationAle Brewing. It's been a while since I posted here and wanted to share something we've been building toward that I'm genuinely stoked on.

For those who don't know our story - RationAle was born out of a conversation between my dad Jamie, my brother Carter, and myself back in 2021. Alcoholism has run through our family history, so we set out to build a moderation brand that didn't just taste great without the booze, but actually meant something to the people drinking it. We brew to full 5-6% ABV, then remove the alcohol through a reverse osmosis process - so you're getting a real craft beer, not a shortcut.

That purpose shows up in how we brew, who we back, and what we stand for. This May, it's front and center.

We just partnered with the Andy Irons Foundation for Mental Health Awareness Month.

If you're in the surf or action sports world, you know who Andy Irons was - three-time world champion, one of the greatest to ever do it. He also battled mental health and addiction privately for years before passing in 2010. His wife Lyndie built the Andy Irons Foundation in his memory, and they've spent over a decade supporting young people dealing with mental illness, addiction, and learning disabilities through community-based programs. Lyndie said it best: "Mental health doesn't discriminate - it can affect anyone, no matter how they appear to the outside world."

The partnership is called "Check In Before You Drop In" - a reminder to pause and check in with yourself and the people around you before you drop into whatever wave life throws at you. My dad put it perfectly: "waves of emotion can come in all sizes, and without the right mindset or support, can be overwhelming."

This also builds on our 2025 Crush the Crisis campaign, where we partnered with BetterHelp to offer one free month of therapy nationwide and committed 1% of sales to grassroots mental health orgs. This is the next chapter of that.

Here's how it works:

  • $2 from every 6-pack purchased on our website this month goes directly to the Andy Irons Foundation
  • $1 from every 6-pack sold at Foodland locations across Hawaii throughout June
  • We're also donating 1% of our Hawaii sales year-round to the foundation - a market we just expanded into, which makes this launch especially meaningful
  • Buy a 6-pack in May and you're automatically entered to win an exclusive photo print by legendary surf & skate photographer Steve Sherman + a summer supply of RationAle

This one's personal. Our brand has always been about being alcohol-inclusive - not preachy, not sobriety-focused - just giving people a genuinely great option and meeting them where they're at. This campaign is that same energy applied to mental health: no lectures, just check in on yourself and the people around you.

Whether you're already crushing our brews or just discovering NA craft beer, we'd love for you to be part of this.

Sierra Nevada Assorted pack from Costco

Back in the NA beer scene for the time being (wife wants a body cleanse for our second child). Man has the NA scene changed alot in the past 3 years.

I last talked about Bitburger being my newest favorite with Busch being right behind. Was at Costco and saw the Sierra Nevada Assorted pack and decided to pick it up. I normally don't really care too much for IPAs, but occasionally drink them. I especially previously didn't like NA IPAs at all. Sierra Nevada has definitely changed that. Before the switch I was drinking a lot Pilsner Urquell, Bohemia, and Sierra Nevada pale ale. Sierra Nevada is knocking NAs out the park

My rankings of the four

  1. Golden

  2. IPA

  3. Brewveza

  4. Hazy IPA

What are your all's rankings and what are your favorites? What might I like if I like these?

Fearless Soul Hazy IPA - Three Kings

I found this at a farmer's market it Denver.

Three Kings sells a few types of NA beer and Kombucha, but I only tried their hazy. It's pretty good overall. It reminds me a little bit of Free Wave, but with more of the bitterness that's often missing from NA IPAs. Definitely worth trying if you're anywhere near Denver and see them at an event.

Nopes

This is hands down my favorite Pilsner on the market. I still dabble in real and not real beer and just might need to do a side by side of their regular version (Slopes). This one had me doubling checking it was an NA.

If you’re in the Minneapolis/ Saint Paul area I’d recommend grabbing this one.

Stopped by our local liquor store and picked up a 6 pack of Budweiser Zero for me and 4 pack of Gruvi Dry Secco for the wife. First time trying Bud Zero - they say it tastes like the alcohol version but I can’t remember what that tasted like! I certainly don’t hate it. My wife loves the dry secco.

Deschutes Hazy IPA (and Kinto glasses)

While I love Black Butte, I wasn't crazy about the Fresh Squeezed. I saw the Hazy in my Total Wine and gave it a shot. Really enjoying this. Heavy mango notes, so more tropical than dank. Should be perfect for the summer.

But really, this is an excuse to gush over these Kinto cast beer glasses. They are silly expensive ($37 for 4, plus shipping from Kinto), but for some reason I was drawn to them. When they arrived and I unpacked them, I thought I had thrown my money away. The glass is so thin, I had to double-check it was really glass. But the pour is perfect for a 12oz can. And the Uber thin glass immediately absorbs all the cold in a good way. The lip is perfectly contoured for drinking. I've had 4 beers in the last 24 hours, just as an excuse to use the glass. I've had my eye on them for a while; it was a good use of some tax return money. Highly recommend if the price isn't a deal breaker.

Self care has finally done it! This Totally Fluffed Up IPA is the best hazy NA I've had by a large margin. Juicy, some dank even has a little bite to it. Couldn't be more impressed and I've been chasing hazy a long time.

Flavor is fantastic. Carbonation did bubble over as if the balance was off or it's over carbonated, but it didn't bug me.

If you've wanted a hazy def try this, and they ship. Hope they sell it year round!
