first superstrike x2 pinky super light base mod. 50grams

After spending 3 weeks on fusion I managed to get a design I'm happy with, thumb rest and pinky together also on its way.

The standard superlight shape always seems to be missing something. The generic potato shape is very smooth and hard to get any downward force for quick flicks.

Couldn't find anything online. Asked people to help me with but no joy so decided to do it myself.

This simple not destructive mod with adaptable mouse feet height depending if you use glass or cloth will give you the stability you've been missing.

Ealily knock 10 grams off the standard base.

Progressing through a new exo skeleton too to further knock 8 grams of weight off.

Weight goal is 40 to 43 grams.

Pm me for me info

I feel like my mouse is moving slower on the mouse pad, any reasons why and how to fix it ?

I've been playing shooter games on this thing for the majority of my time having it n shi was cool till I decided to play OSU for the first time on it, I found out that it was very, very slow. And I kept losing in certain maps where you had to switch between opposite sides of the map very frequently. Any suggestions on what I should do ? (I dont clean the mouse pad for what that info is worth, and I think the bottom of the mouse is slowly getting eaten away, and I'll id a picture to show its state)

ATK VXE R1 SE+ Fingertip mod

The shape is partly inspired by the G-Wolves Asym, and feels pretty good imo.
Please ignore the color I didnt feel like opening another spool of filament...

45g (using original battery with tape and dot skates)

Modelled in Autodesk Fusion, printed on a Bambu lab P1S using standard PLA.

STL Files: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1g4NFjh4RRoY4-qNlgkCJTmElhZOdiOW3
Disclaimer: Part of the side button PCB needs to be broken off to fit inside the shell.

17 gram Op1 8k v2 mod

Hi everyone! I just made a new version of my custom mouse shell.

The main new feature is that it now uses the Op1 8k v2 internals. I decided on this because it offers top tier performance at a great price and is modder-friendly.

I have also made some minor changes such as increasing the width of the mouse buttons for added comfort and making the mouse buttons attach to the shell with screws to make it easier to attach and remove.

I am now releasing the 3D model file for FREE with instructions on how to make your own: Link to 3D Model

If you prefer to buy a fully assembled version or just a mod-kit, I have it available on my shop: Link to Shop

Please let me know what you think! :)

Rotary Encoder help

Im trying to fix my Roccat kain 120 and it’s an absolute pain

The scroll wheel started skipping and now I’m trying to replace it

I bought a TTC one with the JST connector soldered on but the slot is too big

I was wondering if I bought this cable with the same amount of pins (3 pin) it would work when I solder it onto a new rotary encoder (kaihl red encoder)

Logitech gpro x superlight. warranty ended last month so i decided to give it a new life.

I worked on this for a week. learned a lot, will do it again.

Hardware upgrades:

  • Huano brown silent switches 10M
  • Kailh red encoder (much smoother than stock)

paintjob is not yet complete, although it feels amazing after sanding. will upload results after painting.

P.S. please give me some paint suggestions in the comments if you can. Thank you.

Is it safe to desolder these off?

I have never modded a mouse or any other electronics before. I was wondering is it safe to desolder components off of the mouse when modding? I couldn't find a good answer when searching it up.

I am currently modding my old wired Glorious model O as a small project.

The componets circled in the photo are a cosmetic light for the scroll wheel (right) and side buttons (left)

So is it safe to remove these components to save weight or will it break the mouse?

Mod for lower click height?

I'm a fingertip player, and I absolutely love the Keychron M4 shape, it is by far the most comfortable in my hands with the side contour and I generally aim best with it. I have, however, one major complaint which is the click height. The clicks are leagues taller than other fingertip mice like the fenrir asym and HSK pro, both of which I've had and not liked the general shape as much as the M4, but the click height was a big improvement. Does anyone have ideas on how I could mod the mouse in order to lower the click height?

I decided to make a mod for the 50$ Ftip Mouse Keychron M4 by combining this https://www.reddit.com/r/MouseReview/comments/12jfkz1/hskcarbon_files_uploaded_to_thingiverse/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button model of the HSK Fingertip Design by u/MeanNectarine2311. I made some changes to fit the size of the Keychron M4 and some weight reduction as well. The shell itself sits at 12 grams with functioning side buttons and traditional clicks adapted to the M4. 3mf and Stl files linked below.

Need help lowering back hump on custom G303-style mouse shell

Hi everyone,

I’m looking for some help with a custom mouse shell project. I tried to create a clone inspired by the Logitech G303 shape using another mouse as the base, but the back hump ended up being too high for my hand size. I have small hands, so the current shape is very uncomfortable and basically unusable for me right now.

I already have all the SolidWorks design files and measurements needed for the modification. The original work was done through an institute/workshop, but they are now refusing to make further adjustments unless I pay the full amount again, which I unfortunately cannot afford.

What I need help with is mainly lowering/reworking the back hump/profile to make the shape more comfortable. If anyone here has experience with mouse modding, 3D modeling, shell design, or printing and would be willing to guide me or help with the modification, I would really appreciate it.

I’m not very experienced with this kind of design work myself, so any help, suggestions, or collaboration would mean a lot.

Thank you!

This is my 17g Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini Fingertip Mod. I ordered a ZeroMouse and I wanted to get used to a lightweight mouse at the time. I was using a finger tip shell G pro Superlight but I've always wondered how much it could weigh with one small PCB and not the 2 big PCBs on the gpx. I was looking for mice with small PCBs and found the Pulsar X2 CrazyLight Mini on sale for $80. I bought it and designed it to be as light as possible while still keeping the scroll wheel. I've been using it personally for months and wanted to post to get it out there and get feedback.

I'm working on a modular/adjustable mouse concept project, to address the "one-size-fits-all" problem with mice. I’m currently in the research phase, and I’m trying to gather enough data to try and focus on what the root problem is for most people, if there is one, or if there's a distribution.

I’m looking for honest feedback on three things:

  1. What's the one thing about your current mouse that you're currently modding and why?

  2. If you’ve ever tried an ergonomic mouse and went back to a regular one, why?

  3. Do you actually deal with hand/wrist fatigue, or is your current setup "fine" enough that you don't think about it or it's not enough to do anything about it ?

If you also (or instead) would be willing to take this survey, would greatly appreciate it!

Advice on how to start 3D Printing?

I’ve been curious with mice and 3D Printing, I’ve always wanted to make my own shape or mod my current mice I have, obviously with other mice internals. I know this is a very broad question to ask. But what would be a beginner / budget friendly 3D Printer to start off with, the best material to print with, what budget should I expect to spend. Any advice to help?

Platforms like Eloshapes and Rtings have tools for directly comparing different mouse shapes. You can use the developer tools in Chrome to download them and with a file conversion from a site like this one (I just looked a random one up) you can have a workable STL to 3D print and test the shape for yourself or use as a reference for making your own mouse, or whatever else.

I made a a video showing an example if you prefer to see it done that way.

Open whichever site's compare tool

Hit F12 to bring up developer tools

Click over to the Network tab

Load in whichever model you'd like. You'll see some entries populate the Network tab. You want the 3d.glb.gz file that just appeared

Right-click and open in new tab or double click to download it

Head over to your file conversion site. It must to glb.gz to STL

Upload, convert it to STL, and download your new file

Enjoy
