After lurking for a year…I pulled the trigger…and you guys were right!

My son was born last year and I wanted a bigger vehicle with more space. I was driving a 2020 Mustang GT (my dream car). It was paid off and I loved it — but driving the little one to daycare with it was tough. My wife has a 2023 Honda Civic which works well, but we just really wanted more space. I was so indecisive for a year. I didn’t want to let go of the GT, but with the 0.99% APR and Tesla approving a higher trade in amount than initially offered, I pulled the trigger.

And wow. This thing is freaking incredible. It drives so ridiculously smooth. FSD has really helped calm me down on crazy traffic days and I can just peacefully listen to my audiobook. My son loves the screens and gets excited to see Mickey Mouse Club House lol. It’s an incredible vehicle. And to all the people who told me to pull the trigger — thank you! I’m glad I did.

This is the best daily driver I’ve ever had. It is efficient, practical, and just fun to drive when I decide not to have FSD on. I do miss my Mustang GT — it was an amazing vehicle and it was a brilliant piece of engineering. I do plan on getting another Mustang in the future as nothing beats the sound of a V8. However, for my daily driving and taking my son to daycare, the Model Y is where it’s at — and the future Mustang will be my weekend fun car.

Thank you to this community for all the feedback and guiding me through all my crazy indecisiveness over the last year. 🙏

Proud to be in the Model Y family!

(The pic was today after I got off of work, a week after delivery. Windows have been tinted! Went with the Premium RWD as I live in a desert climate and it rarely rains or snows).

What a beauty!

People say if you look back at your car every time when you get out of it, you must be in love with it. What a beauty I have!

Most annoying issue that you wish Tesla would fix already

Currently driving an Ioniq 5. Coming off lease soon and considering a 2023/2024 Model Y LR. With Hyundai/Kia there's the ICCU issue. It affects roughly 5% off all vehicles but those who've had it are rightfully very vocal about it. What issues affect Model Y drivers that are the most annoying or problematic that you wish Tesla already had a solution for?

Would it be dumb to buy?

I’m looking for a cheapish electric car to get for $20k or less. 30 years old. M. I’ve always wanted a Tesla. I always would sleep in it for time being which I know is good as well. I always believed they are extremely expensive to maintain. Idk why I always thought that? Would it be a good idea? I do DoorDash. Want to live in the car. Just live a simple life but I always thought Tesla was like “premium ride, premium prices” type of thing. I’m either looking at this or a chevy bolt 2023. Any ideas? I’m bad idea? Thanks!!

Floor flexing/popping when stepped on Model Y premium

My front passenger floor on my newly picked up ‘26 Model Y premium tends to have some flex that makes a popping noise when stepped on or putting pressure. Seems to be coming from this area in the front passenger floor (marked red) on the image. Anyone else have the same issue?

Took it to service and they said it is normal. Service said that it’s common for the current Ys and not to worry about it unless it makes extreme noise when driving since it’s not a safety issue.

Help: homelink

I just got a new juniper model Y and had the homelink for garage door opener installed.

While the car paired with opener with no problem and I could click on the homelink icon on the screen to open and close, it doesn’t automatically open or close although I clicked both options. Interestingly, the mirrors do unfold automatically, suggesting it isn’t a location accuracy issue…

Wonder if anyone encountered the same issue or has any suggestions.

Thank you!

Has anybody used "Door Seal Rubber Kit Full-Body Noise Reduction for Model Y 2020-on" from teslite on a Juniper MY? If so, how was installation? Does it help with wind noise?

Model Y Shanghai 2022 (with EAP) or Berlin (2023)

Hey everyone,

I’m about to get my first Tesla on a lease. I’m leasing because this is more of a transition car for me, and I plan to upgrade in about 2.5 years once I’m earning significantly more.

Also for context, I’m based in Europe, so FSD is not available here, only EAP.

Right now I’m deciding between two options:

• December 2022 Shanghai-built Model with EAP included

• January 2023 Berlin-built Model (without EAP)

Both cars have almost identical mileage, and the monthly payment is nearly the same. Adding EAP would cost about 15 more per month.

What makes me unsure are all the claims that Berlin-built cars have better suspension, sealing, and overall build quality.

So I’m wondering if it’s worth giving up those improvements just to have EAP included, or if you would go for the better comfort and supposedly improved materials of the Berlin-built version instead.

Thanks a lot for your help!
