Is my clutch in backwards?

The friction disc didn't have a flywheel side labelled so I went with the flat side towards the flywheel, spring/bump towards the pressure plate and now I'm not sure.

The pressure plate does not sit flush with the flywheel and the friction disc spins when I turn the engine over as per the video.

Is this normal?

Found out the issue with my 7mgte, looks like someone replaced my timing belt at some point and forgot to tighten up my camshaft and now I need to replace them. Just wanted to know what the best route is, oem ones are incredibly expensive. What are your thoughts?

Always fun to come out of the store and find that my car, P'Tina Petunia, has made a new friend.

Is buying an Mk3 risky nowadays?

I’m on the brink of buying an mk3. Here good ones are around 20k€. But now I’m kinda getting cold feet since this would be the first proper car I would buy outside of regular cars. The buying guides I read didn’t make it better since they basicly said, every Supra will either have a damaged Headgasket or will have one in the near future. Almost all of them would be rusting etc.
And I’m not a mechanic, I’m into cars and how engines work but have never REALLY worked on a car besides changing oil, sparkplugs, valve cover gaskets and stuff like that.
Should I stay away from a Supra or am I overthinking it?

Still can’t figure out what’s going on ignition coil is good and sparking from what I hear in this video I think distributor might not be getting enough signal causing it to lose spark somehow. Did a diagnostic check on the OBD1 and got a code 51 which I think is throttle position sensor not sure if it would cause a no spark all my ground are good it ran before I did my head gasket job in my previous post I still have the 2 plugs not connected everytjme I crank this thing I’ll js get a backfire. Fuel pump is good and was spraying everywhere from a loose bolt but got it tighten up

So far we've wirebrushed the majority of the engine clean, cracked open the powersteering pump to make sure it was good, welded a new bung into the oilpan because it was stripped out past a 17 course thread, threw on the other sc400 parts, replaced the front and rear main seals, repacked the pulley bearings, installed the 7m oil pressure sensor, replaced the timing belt and waterpump, figured out the AC top plates are interchangeable, replaced the studs on the fan pulley with shorter bolts, replaced the distributor caps and rotors (one was installed wrong), installed new sparkplugs and wires, did the oil change, installed non broken plastics, reinstalled the serpentine, and fixed chewed vacuum lines. Next thing on the list is to clean up some wiring, flush the blocks coolant channels, and figure out the temp sensor thing I read on one of the forums.

Anyone know where I can find one of these?

I believe this was a vanity plate installed by a dealership and I’ve only seen one listing from some dickhead who refused to reply to me. Anyone know where I can find one? Or even custom make one in the same font?

Js bought this mk3 supra with a bad head gasket for 1200 did the job easy peasy put in some arps forgot where these two wires could’ve gone to and now I have no spark I drove this car home like 30 minutes before when I bought so I know it at least started ignitor seems to have power when keys on I destroyed my ignitor coil wire as well but I think looks usuable maybe some electrical tape any thoughts appreciated

I've taken my supra on a handful of drives, pushing it quite hard, and it's always been smoky on startup but has never had any other problems. Today I took it out and it overheated after 2 minutes, and stayed that way. The radiator is bubbling quite a lot, and I can't imagine how else air would've gotten into the system.

I did a complete motor overhaul rebuild. I believe I didn’t replace this one. Looks like a crush washer gasket. Any ideas where I should’ve put this?

So I’ve wanted a mk3 for a while now but I’ve came to realize the 1jz version was only released in Japan and it’s very rare for me to find one in my state (California). So I thought just import one but I don’t have any real idea how much that would run me if I were to bid on one in a Japanese auction. I’d like to know soon so I can start saving towards it.

This would also be my first time importing any car so any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
