A few months ago, I set myself the task of learning to solve Cryptic Crosswords, I now enjoy a few daily ones, including minutecryptic to keep the brain active. Whilst discussing them with a friend, I commented how difficult it must be to write them and that I doubt I could.

Well, to allay that doubt, I thought I would try... so here it is, after about an hour of scribbling, my first ever cryptic crossword clue. Feel free to solve this in seconds and laugh at how long it took me to write it and provide any feedback you feel I need to hear!

This is my first attempt at creating my own cryptic, been a fan for a while. This one might be a bit of a stretch, >! Specifically the “lost -> questioning” aspect, how does “questioning” get removed from the word “company”? !< but I tried my best to make it fun and a little challenging! Feedback is appreciated.
