My Convention Setup

These are some pictures of my convention display that I do with the kind folk of r/DNDNL.

Almost every terrain piece is hand-made out of XPS, is modular, fully magnetized and painted by myself. Some parts are 3d printed such as the pumpkin village, furniture and carts. others, like the marketplace and brewery are made from scratch.

Minis are mostly sourced from Warhammer Fantasy, Frostgrave, Dungeons & Lasers, Fireforge games, is 3d printed or kitbashed from several different kits.

Battle of The Gutter

I saw this pile of dead soldier ants years ago while in college, and then I had an epiphany: it looked like these ants had fought a battle here over the gutter, leaving many dead long gone and forgotten.

Second attempt at a miniworld inside a can!

Second attempt at creating a mini world inside an aluminum can with all recycled materials! Complete with a LED light attached to the cap so you can unscrew and replace the battery as needed. I learned a lot making this project and worked with a lot of new materials. It was a lot of fun problem solving and turning an idea into something real and physical.

Abandoned car diorama (@no.omega)

Recent diorama I completed. The car is a die cast model that I tore apart and aged. All of the foliage, weathering, and props was made by me. Thanks for looking.

Anyone know what this is?

This popped up in my garden this morning, i’ve been seeing a lot of small mushrooms but nothing like this. Is it harmful? What are possible ways it got here?

B-day gift for my daughter

Hi all.

I made a fairy/tree house for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Some backstory on it. I started collecting items for about a year and would look on Pinterest for inspiration/ideas. I’d scour garage sales, FB Marketplace, thrift stores, items found in nature, swap meets, etc. and also once I informed friends of what I was doing, they’d also find things and give to me to add to it.

There are some details I’d like to share:

- the little ruler has my kids’ “heights” written next to it to make it more personal for them

- the floor in the kitchen is made from ripped up egg cartons to give it that cobblestone look

- I used fairy lights throughout and just turn them on when she plays with it

- the outside part of the home (where the red mailbox is located) was super easy! I used the brown packaging paper and saturated it in a 50/50 mix of water and glue and just scrunched it up and placed it on the facade so it’d look like tree bark.

I hope you enjoy!
