I can't believe I've been doing this little daily routine for almost three years!
I redeemed some points for Microsoft gift cards. Mainly waiting for a sale to come up for some games I am looking at. I figured I would redeem them while I can before prices increase, only to then discover that the currency has an expiration date? Shouldn't this effectively be like money, how on earth is it allowed to expire?
I find it especially surprising since I live in Canada where the law generally does not allow gift cards to expire. So has Microsoft just found some way to bypass these laws or something like that?

Help I'm slow... What's the difference between a $10 Xbox gift card and a $10 "auto redeem" Xbox gift card? Why is the "auto redeem" cheaper? Why is there still an option for auto redeem on both?!?
