I have my first ever MKWii tournament on Friday. I spent Monday relearning the entire control scheme for the game since I haven't played Wii in 7 years. I spent Tuesday doing a lot of time trials. I got today and tomorrow to prepare. What should I focus on doing?

Super Mario Galaxy Kart Wii (a Texture + Music Pack for Mario Kart Wii)

Super Mario Galaxy Kart Wii is a modpack for Mario Kart Wii that aims to replicate the atmosphere of the Super Mario Galaxy games ;D

It has UI edits, Sound Effects, Visual Effects, Custom Item Models, edits for every single vanilla course and battle course (with some skyboxes even being ported from the Galaxy games!), Mario and Luigi both have their voices from the Galaxy games, custom credits, custom course previews (in the menu), custom music for every track and menu and some more other stuff!

It's at version 3.0 now (which adds support for Retro Rewind) but I figured I'd try posting about it on here as well!! The Retro Rewind versions has some minor sacrifices that I had to make (UI related stuff, like some buttons still being the default Mario Kart Wii ones and the track names not being changed in that version to avoid confusion) so the Riivolution version is the definitive version to play!

I'll post the download link down in the comments ^^

PAL vs Standard name for vehicles on which is better on a tierlist. Ignore Mach bike.

Explaination: Nitrocycle>Sneakster it just sounds so cool honestly and fits with the look Sneakster sounds basic.

Cornetto>Mini Beast fits the car name othat’s it that Beast looks like it’s falling apart.

Bon-bon>Sugar scoot

Rapide>Zip-zip Makes the bike so fast even though it’s not 💀.

Torpedo>Spear I love this name it encapsulates the vehicle name perfectly as it’s speed is high and hard to control yet spear sounds basic and it doesn’t look like a spear.

In Mario Kart Wii (2008) Nintendo made the polarizing decision to feature a track named after the former dictator Adolf Hitler famous for his work on WW2 (1939)

This is my third MKW LEGO track, and it's a good one! You can buy the 484 pieces on brickwith for a decent priece. Here's how.

  1. Go to my Rebrickable page and buy the instructions (i ask for 3€)
  2. Then, go to Brickwith, click "Part list" → "Upload", and drop the .csv file you get with the instructions. It must say they have 484 pieces available.

Shipping from China is expensive, so I recommend searching for online coupons. Please, before buying the instructions, try uploading an .io file from any free model to see how much your shipping would cost. Take into account pieces are really cheap here, and even with shipping costs, it's still cheap for current Lego prices. You can try buying other models, like my Mushroom Gorge one so the shipping price is mitigated.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

one thousandth of a second

I was literally just thinking to myself this morning "how close can you possibly get?" 😂

Well, this would be it. I'm really enjoying Retro Rewind. It's like reliving 2012 all over for me. I was obsessed with this game back then.

Happy racing, y'all!

I personally use Dolphin because of being able to have higher graphics and also because I have beat the game on the Wii. I just wanna know what y'all play on for fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I recently played CTGP 7 so I thought I'd give CTGP Revolution for the Wii a try. I was immediately disappointed, there are no new characters and the first track I played Tick Tock Clock didn't have any moving parts like in the original DS version, the 8 Deluxe version, or heck even the way better CTGP 7 version. Overall the track felt lifeless considering item boxes were also very sparsely placed. Another issue is the mod's jarring and out of place music, Tick Tock Clock didn't have it's normal catchy theme instead there was some generic battle mode music from the base game. This jarring music is even worse in courses like Bowser Jr.'s Crafty Castle where Delfino Square or Peach Gardens (I think the track was one of these 2, can't remember which) music plays while you're driving through a menacing castle.
Can anybody recommend any better Mario Kart Wii mods that match CTGP 7's quality? or should I keep playing CTGPR? I don't want to break rule 5 but I saw a post similar to this but I didn't find it helpful and I think my request is different enough plus it offers my own personal opinion on the subject.

I realized I've played hundreds of hours of MKW, yet I didn't have anything physical from it. Here is how you can get this too! Everything costs around 33€ (plus shipping).

  1. Instructions: Go to my Rebrickable page and buy the instructions (i ask for 4€)
  2. Pieces: Go to Brickwith, click "Part list" → "Upload", and drop the .io file you get with the instructions. It must say they have 701 pieces available.

Shipping from China is expensive, so I recommend searching for online coupons. Please, before buying the instructions, try uploading an .io file from any free model to see how much your shipping would cost. Take into account pieces are really cheap here, and even with shipping costs, it's still cheap for current Lego prices. You can try buying other models so the shipping price is mitigated.

BTW, I just finished my next track and I’ll be posting it tomorrow... Can you guess which one it is?
