So the highlight of the film is the 3rd where Max is going after and taking out Toecutter and his biker gang. But the way that it ends is honestly really creative and something that doesn’t get talked about enough.
One thing I really like about the ending is that they break the formula a bit by not having Toecutter be the last guy that gets killed. In most movies where the main protagonist goes after an evil gang, the leader of the gang is usually the last one to get killed. So a more typical filmmaker probably would’ve had the movie end after the scene where Toecutter gets run over by the giant truck. But that doesn’t happen. Instead, Johnny is the last member to get killed and i think that was brilliant. The scene where he handcuffs Johnny to the car debris by his ankle, creates a crude time-delay fuse using leaking petroleum, and then gives Johnny the option of sawing through the handcuff chain or his own able before the car blows up was the perfect ending scene for the movie. It perfectly shows that Max has officially gone mad (hence the movie’s name) and also leaves the audience saying “Oh, that guy is so fucked now.”
I realized too late while I was starting the mission that I forgot to change my engine back from the lv3 v6 that the game forced on me the mission before to the V6 level max (they look too similar, i didn’t realize) and now I’m kinda stuck with a car that can’t possibly reach Stank Gum, and unfortunately the game auto-saved at the start of the race.
What do I do? Is there a way for me to get out of the mission or have I soft locked myself and the only way to win is to re-play the whole game.
I hope it is not the second because if so I just lost all interest for the game.
I hope this fits the criteria for posting here. A kid from the 80's that watched The Road Warrior countless times and I always wanted to make a crazy vehicle. So in early 2020, I made this. Its my daily driver but still has a lot of things I want to do to it. Thought you all might like it.
Finally got all my bits to finish the Interceptor
Very fun little build.

Following the big financial success of Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior in 1981 it's obvious like any big blockbuster that many other films came along and tried to cash in on it. Usually blending the dystopian future aspects with vehicular action sequences and a "lawless" post apocalyptic wasteland setting. Of course these films never managed to top Road Warrior, but many of them are still entertaining in their own right. Anyone seen any of these? My favorites of the bunch are probably Battletruck, Hell Comes to Frogtown and 1990: The Bronx Warriors.

When Doc and Marty overshot their destination, they landed in a scorched future where civilization had collapsed into chaos and chrome-plated war machines ruled the desert. Refitted with monstrous tires, scrap armor, and a roaring engine fueled by whatever they could scavenge, their time machine became a legend of the wasteland. Now hardened by dust storms and danger, Doc schemes to fix the timeline while Marty rides shotgun, both trying to stay one step ahead of the warlords who would kill for a machine that can outrun time itself.
Kinda realized something when I rewatched the series again... How did they kept the cars running? Like okay, in Fury Road we see a bunch of cars with superchargers and Turbos. Like the war rig alone is stated to have 1000hp+ (now that I mentioned it, how tf did they even measured it, is there a Dyno in the citadel or something)
How the hell did the engine not blow up? Ignoring engine stress and logic, my only question is fuel, not it's availability but what kind of fuel it is? Like ain't no way Gas Town be producing 93 and E85. Like how do you run something with boost on ass fuel? I'm looking wayy to deap into this
I utterly crave a movie that shows the in-between from the first Mad Max to Road Warrior. You know? I wanna see the utter downfall of humanity.. how the cops became psycho like in Humongous' gang in Road Warrior..
Auntie has you captive, and you are to face the wheel.
it has been a boring week in Barter Town, the people are getting restless.
So, Auntie offers you a choice.
you can face the wheel and serve the sentence, or you can chose to enter the thunderdome with your choice of opponents, and ride off with a fully fueled vehicle and all of the goods you can carry.
your choices are
Lord Humongous
Wez
Rictus
Dementus
What is your choice?
Myself, there is no way I would face the wheel. I have a sneaking suspicion it is rigged like a carnival game.
I wont choose Dementus. Not only is he huge, he seems to enjoy pain.
I wont choose Rictus- dude has gorrila strength and can probably take a beating for hours and just ignore it.
that leaves Lord Humongous and Wez.
IMO, wez is far more frightening than Lord Humongous.
His agility is off the charts- the way he Parkoured his way through the refinery makes me think that he would be an absolute natural talent in the thunder dome.
he would work the jumping harnesses like a monkey on steroids and fly all over the damn place.
I fear he would be able to get any weapon he wanted at any time he wanted and slice and dice me without ever getting touched.
That leaves me against Lord Humongous. huge and terrifying, but at least I can hope that attacking his face mask might hamper his vision or expose a weakness.
I think agility is the biggest advantage in the dome, and with his mask hampering his vision and his size, he might be the only one I would have a slim chance against.
if I lose, well, at least I wont live the rest of my life in the underworld.
Many of the filming locations for the first 3 films have been well documented, exact locations found and people often visit them (myself included!). However for Furiosa, I can only find general areas where it was shot.
I know a lot of it was filmed around Broken Hill, where Road Warrior was shot, but where exactly?
The sequence where the Mortifiers are chasing the Rig was filmed on the Hay Plains around Hay.
The use of CGI to redress the locations, plus the remoteness and vastness of them likely makes it difficult to pinpoint exactly. Also, the film not having the cult statuses of the original 3 probably makes the locations less desirable to find and travel too.
Still, I'd love to see some stories and photos from the locations!
