Does anyone know about this error? The machine is triggering an alarm on its own, and I can't find the cause of the error.

Crysta advice

I’m setting up a CMM
I followed the instructions pretty carefully, and I am familiar with many CMM‘s

I only had one issue in the set up, and that was that the probe that was instructed to be loaded in the step-by-step manual did not exist. However, the probe I measured with a 4 mm ball was on the list so I selected that

When I go to create a new part so I can calibrate I get a very bizarre error

“Please check if your hardware matches to your selected configuration
CNC: Unknown error (1048, Dongle Option for CNC is missing)
Fatal error - leave GEOPAK.”

I’m hoping somebody here can help me explain it

Also, I haven’t even opened the zip file yet but if I’m running 4.0 am I allowed to upgrade to 4.2 etc.

I understand I can’t install 5.0 as it’s a new version

Does anyone here like MCOSMOS?

Honestly, does anyone enjoy this software? I genuinely enjoy programming in PCDIMIS and Aberlink, I have just started MCOSMOS but cannot find myself liking it.

Mistar 555 Machine Position Repeatability

The Mistar 555 I use and program has a weird issue. Whenever I start learning a new program and I immediately start off in CNC mode and use machine position to find and align the part automatically, when I stop and save and repeat in CMM mode to check and actually run through my program sometimes the position is WAY off from where I programmed. Like .100" or more, causing collisions. Why would this be? Once it picks up an alignment and sets an origin its perfect but in the beginning when its in machine position the repeatability seems way off.

Do I need to actually manually pick up all my alignments everytime? Kinda cumbersome to do so in order to have everyday operators come in and run it. I want them to be able to put the part on the fixture and hit go. Any ideas?
