These Exo Pilots Are Traitors To Super Earth

Look at how this Exo Pilot cowardly guns down a brave SEAF soldier from behind. They claim no SEAF were harmed, but I see the blood!

Might be an Hot Take, But i DON'T Want Full Mech Customization

I'm not saying that i don't want free mechs, that's a whole different topic and not the point i want to make... but yeah, you read that right, i DON'T want mech customization, and that's mostly for balance reasons.

Having mechs presets is much more interesting, because AH can balance them to have specific strengths and weaknesses, meaning that choosing which mech to bring is an interesting decision that changes depending on faction, mission type, constellation, biome and team composition. It encourages teamplay by choosing mechs that cover your team weaknesses, like needing more long range add clear, or more defense to escort a high value target.

Not having customization means that one mech can't (or shouldn't, balance isn't always perfect) be strictly better than the rest. You want an AT weapon? You will only get one then, and the other arm is a flamethrower, not something comfortable like a minigun or long range like an autocannon. You want a shield? Sure, but you'll have to use a shotgun, no long range weaponry! Want rockets? Why not, but you'll have to use a minigun, not something even more AT like a cannon.

These presets force the player to make decision, instead of crafting their perfect one-size-fits-all solution to everything. It also allows AH to make these choices stronger without breaking the mech balance. It would be fine if the Bulkward shield was invulnerable like devastator ones, after all you can't pair it with a true AT option, you're stuck with a shotgun, and you'll have to deal with it.

It would also probably end up being filled with useless filler options just for the sake of it. Different armors, different legs, maybe accessories like stratagem thrower and portable shield... but we all know most of them wouldn't be used, just like everyone uses vertical foregrip on 90% of weapons. Just slap on the chassis with the highest defense (if it allows to tank more hits, otherwise the one with the fastest speed), fastest legs, stratagem thrower, double AT cannons, and you have everything you'll ever need...booooooring!

I don't need everything to be 200% under my control, fully customizable with dozens of options. Sometimes, fewer more thought-up choices can be better than hundreds of bland options, with a few clearly better than the rest.

The idea of an expendable AR sounds fun but I'm not sure why I'd use it.

Like, what is the combat advantage of an AR that is expendable?

How would it be better than a stalwart/MG43?

Mini nuke appreciation!

Man, I finally got to use the mini nuke shot from the SEAF artillery in a game last night for the first time (just started about 2 weeks ago), and that thing is absolutely glorious!!! I'm usually not the one loading the shells at the actual POI, so I've never gotten to call one in until last night, but man... talk about democracy!!

Speaking of big booms, what actually has the largest, single explosion in the game? Is it the Hellbomb?

The SEAF are coming to the Non-City Maps!

was watching the video for the next warbond; and yes those divers should be taken outback to the shed; I noticed that, the SEAF aren't in the City like they normally are, that's a settlement, like the places introduced when the Illuminate first arrived.

IF this is true, I'm more happy about this than the mechs

Expendable hype

I’m most excited to get my hands on the MGX-42. Finally having fully well rounded expendable build options are going to be nuts.

Taking it, EAT, HEAT, and Leveler, and just always having another option on the ready is going to pretty powerful. They will be so numerous that the pods will become weapons themselves.

It will even boost the viability of the Hellpod boosters. Especially if two commit to the litter bug build.

I’m mostly excited to try a concealed insertion build on Bots. Two of us using sneaky armor and our exp as smoke screens and just unloading on them then disappearing into our fresh weapon choices. True guerrilla warfare hit and run and hide. Even Hellbombs come down with a smoke screen so the only real challenge would be jammers.

Have there been any updates to this expected content for April?

Have we received the new biomes or enemy variant? Any news on when the next Warbond drops?

How the hell are you supposed to fight the illuminate alone??

I'm a level 22, I'm perfectly mediocre at the game. I can manage just fine alone against bots and bugs up to diff 5. I understand them, I have good gear for them.

But illuminate? They are TERRIBLE. Easily the MOST frustrating for me. I can barely manage TRIVIAL with them. Yes, haha, skill issue. What the fuck am I doing wrong? Am I just dogshit, or do other people suck against them?

I don't grind, I'm a casual diver. The game isn't my life. I prefer playing with friends, but I like the game so I play alone too. I could barely even manage freeing a colony on trivial with squids. Mindless masses, for reference, but I did equally horribly against regular squids. Partially because the game broke and my control key stopped working.

I was using the Sapper armour, giga grenades, liberator penetrator (stoker did fuck all), redeemer.

For stratagems I had clusters, napalm barrage, cremator, and MG turret.

What the fuck am I doing wrong

E: Yeah, I know it's a team game. When I started playing the game, I tried to play with randoms. They were horrible and rude, now I don't want to, out of genuine fear. It's not because I think you're all assholes. Y'all aren't being much nicer with the judgement just for me playing solo.

Be honest… if YOU were in charge of the game tomorrow, what would you change?

Just wondering what people would do i would make some balance changes but what would you do?

What are some signs that you're getting REALLY GOOD at Helldivers 2?

I'd like to think I'm good at the game when using my main loadout and playstyle in the game. But it got me thinking - how would one KNOW one is getting good? What is the biggest sign?

Is it having great mission stats? Like most kills, highest accuracy, and least deaths?

Is it never feeling like you're struggling at D10, and always having a counter to any situation across all factions and subfactions?

What do you think?
