Day one… all lights are green

Just got the new HydrConquest. I’m just pleased this punch with it but direct from Longines shipping was unbelievably fast. Got a two day sooner than I expected to. Fit and finish on the watch are excellent. When I purchased the watch they asked what size my wrist was and sent me the exact appropriate sized bracelet. The quick adjust on the clasp is exceptional. I would say significantly better than the Omega Seamaster quick adjust. Ready to start a new adventure with this watch. Give my your thoughts please!

Joined the gang!

Was a little bit afraid from the size because all of reddit says 39mm

But got it at 42mm and sits perfectly, wrist is 7.25inches.

60th Birthday Present [Spirit Zulu]

Here’s a photo of my father’s 60th birthday present to himself! He has been after his first luxury watch for a long time and fell in love with the Spirit Zulu Time 39mm. I think it’s beautiful, and hope to be able to receive it someday.

Hydroconquest Fatique

Anyone else feel completely burned out from all the photos and chatters about the Hydroconquest in the past few weeks?

I figured I’d mix things up by giving my Record Chronograph some wrist time, and to remind folks that Longines make more than just Hydroconquest and Zulu Time.

Spirit Zulu - 1st Longines

My first Longines. The moment I saw the Zulu, I knew I needed it. The value this watch offers compared to higher cost competitors is remarkable: Ceramic dial, true GMT, COSC certification, 39mm/42mm configs for different wrists. The hardest part of deciding on the Zulu was picking the color. They're all great. Loved the blue dial, but I already have a blue dial watch. Happy medium was a blue bezel. My Rolex DJ is taking the back seat for now.

A couple of straps on the grey/black 39mm HC

Personally a fan of the mesh but being one to switch things up, here are a couple strap pics.

Talk me out of it

I did buy my first luxury watch (Conquest 41mm) last year for my 30th birthday and I absolutely adore it. However since the updated Spirit Pilot was released I cannot stop thinking about it. Given both make perfect One Watch Collections the purchase would not be a reasonable one, on the other hand which luxury watch purchase is reasonable?

My father’s watch, restored. I took it to Longines service, they sent it to Switzerland and it came back this week. They had to cut & polish a custom glass, strip & reapply silver, white gold and rebuild the L370 Caliber.

Longines Record - Uncelebrated yet iconic!

Not the Longines that everyone is talking about these days.. but certainly one of their most iconic! The Longines Record collection was their first entirely COSC-certified collection!

It sits in that awkward middle ground, where it’s neither sporty enough to be trendy, nor flashy enough to go viral, but technically very solid.

Hydroconquest too redundant with CW Lumiere?

Okay, I just purchased the Legend Skin Diver on mesh thinking it was going to be my last watch for a long while. Then the new HC came out. It’s such an amazing watch, for a great price. I love the Black/Black version, but I worry that the Lumiere and Skin Diver would be too redundant. I am justifying it by thinking the Skin diver is a matte dial and pvd black steel bezel, and the Lumiere is not even a real black dial, more of a black/gray ombré with a matte bezel. Plus this is my only Titanium watch. https://www.christopherward.com/int/titanium-watches/C60-Trident-Lumière/C60-41C3H31T0KK0-B0.html

Additionally, I have a Navy Blue diver already that is an almost direct match for the Navy HC, so that’s out. The Black/Gray is way too close to the Lumiere, so that is out too. The light blue ones are super nice, but I really want a lacquer dial because it’s a very modern look and I don’t have one. I also have black AT, and a Black Speedmaster Moonwatch. Andddddd I just realized I have enough Black watches. Sad, cause I really like it. Maybe I should sell the Lumiere. Or, maybe I should get the Black/blue or green versions.

The HC is a beautiful lacquer with a polished ceramic bezel. What do you think?
