"They Just Ain't You" Failed To Chart On Billboard Top 200, 5-10K First Week

The official Billboard Top 200 chart has released for the week following the release of Lil Tjay's "They Just Ain't You".

https://www.billboard.com/charts/billboard-200/

The album failed to chart, meaning at least 200 albums sold more than it during it's first week.

As per HDD final projections for the same sales week, the #50 spot on the chart is around 17.3K - https://www.hitsdailydouble.com/charts/hits-top-50

The sales figures for the lower half of the chart are rarely released, but the cut off for Top 200 is usually around 5-10K. Burna Boy debuted at #200 with 8.8K first week - https://x.com/chartdata/status/1947366340710252853

I've seen figures posted here from 25K to 160K total units (lol) - but the official numbers are far less. Should be 5-10K.

People keep saying Tjay fell off?

In my opinion who cares? Your not going be on forever. As long as he is happy putting out the music is putting out and his real fans enjoy it.

Does anyone else think this T.J.A.Y. album is slowly growing on them

At first listen I didn't neccesarily like all the songs or many of them compared with flow and emotions of prior songs but now I'm starting to like these ones a lot more. A couple of the best ones imo: Gone, First time, can't change.

Why all his beats sound the same?

If you listen to every song on the new TJAY album, you’ll notice a pattern:

Sad song sample with vocals -> through a filter -> beat

Not to hate or anything, but he could’ve gotten a little more creative with the beats. I liked “Headshot.”

Your opinion? (Me personally I think this one real good but it just doesn’t have any text on it which is aight I guess)

Just listened to the album on Spotify. Not quite as good as his others, but with the original album being leaked, I can understand if he had to replace those songs in such a short time.

Comparing the original (leaked) tracklist to the release, it seems like he had to remake most of the album. 7 leaked songs were removed and 6 new songs were added. 2 of the leaks were renamed, and 3 more singles were added.

Released Tracklist:

  • Life On Edge (single)
  • Letter To My Block (single)
  • Free The Bros
  • Ain't Too Many Hit
  • Used 2 Love (single)
  • Never Leave (was One Way Mirror)
  • Can't Change (single)
  • Bad Wrist
  • Took Off
  • First Time (single)
  • Gone
  • Drive Me Crazy (was Trapped)
  • Do What I Can

Leaked Tracklist (not in order):

  • Can't Change (single)
  • Dangerous
  • Dark Times
  • Julio
  • Kay Kay
  • Me Again
  • Never Hurt U
  • One Way Mirror (now Never Leave)
  • Pick One
  • Trapped (now Drive Me Crazy)
  • Used 2 Love (single)

(Life On Edge, Letter To My Block and First Time weren't on the OG despite being singles?)

There's still some evidence of the original tracklist as the previews are/were incorrect and some point, Drive Me Crazy was Dangerous (it is now Trapped).

Thanks to u/TrenchKidTJAY and u/NNitro1 for providing the info. u/NNitro1 did upload the leak but as that link is expiring soon, I've uploaded the unreleased songs here.

So he dropped Go Tati but i dont really get the point of it? Did he drop it as the 14th track? Like its way too short for a track. Also don’t like how he put it after ‘Do what i can’ bc do what i can was a good song to close off the album.

What are yalls thoughts on the album?

For me it was very underwhelming. Not bad, but certainly not showing any growth from 222 (which I enjoyed).

The singles were all pretty mid, not one of them had an addictive chorus or hook to really make it hit imo. Very little replay value compared to recent singles like Project Walls, or even Way Out the Hood.

The only song I really like (and think it should’ve been the lead single) was Free The Bros, and I know it’s because it has the 2019-2020 Tjay flow. For half a second at the beginning of the chorus it sounds like he is interpolating Leaked which is my favourite song by him. See if the whole album had this vibe with the production and flow that would’ve been crazy good.

That aside some of the songs were decent but that’s the only one ai actually added to my playlist.

Curious to see what the first week sales will be.

how does his team mess up that bad that they have two different versions with this one clearly being the wrong one on the album? and the one released as single is the one with the yt video. Bro how do u put something out to the world without verifying this

Never Leave is One Way Mirror and the other new songs are all new 🔥 (Free The Bros is basically Leaked 2.0 🔥🔥🔥)
