If you could recommend one NON-STRIP NON-DOWNTOWN spot that consistently delivers an excellent experience what would it be?

This one is for the Vegas veterans. If a close friend of yours asked where they should go for an incredible experience outside of the strip or downtown what would you recommend?

It can be any business (hotel, restaurant, club, etc).

Can you help me find the Dragon Link please?

Glory Days!

The thing that really gets me about this photo is the metal saddle chairs. Sometimes you had to fight for them!

Look at those glorious round payout tubs, ready to fill the room the with loud clanking of winning. Empty Coors banquet for the win.

Did I really find the best deal for a week?

I'll be staying in Vegas for a week in mid June. I'm not looking for any strip hotel and as far as I've seen Airbnb options are rare under $600. So I've been looking at

Tahiti All-Suite Resort 5101 West Tropicana Avenue, Las Vegas, NV

It is $550 for 7 nights, and have a kitchen as well (resort fee included). I will also rent a car.

I was wondering if I'm missing something here or did I really find the most reasonable option? :)

What are three MUST HAVES for any Vegas itinerary?

Obviously, everyone has their own taste and preferences, but if you had to narrow it down to a few things you’d recommend to most Vegas travelers, what would they be?

For me -

#1 Going up to the top of the Stratosphere. The views are incredible and at the restaurant up there the food is surprisingly good. I found eating while spinning around to be a great experience.

#2 Seeing the Bellagio fountains and conservatory. Importantly, these are some of the last remaining free activities in Vegas and absolutely beautiful. A must see!

#3 Walking down Fremont Street. It feels like classic Vegas to gamble in an old school casino like El Cortez or eat at an old school Vegas Steakhouse like Hugo’s or Binion’s. The people watching down there is second to none.

Bonus - Shopping at the Forum Shops. It’s a great mall with some of the best restaurants mixed in.

Sanity check

Hi all,

My flight from Hawaii is scheduled to land into Las Vegas airport at about 10:10pm, am I insane for thinking that we would be checked into our hotel room by 11-1130pm?

I understand plane has to taxi off the runway, find the gate to de board, get bags off and sent to the carousel etc. Is the airport normally busy at that time of night?

Once we have our bags off the baggage carousel we will have to find a taxi rank and get a taxi to the middle of the strip, then get into line at the hotel to check in.

So all things considered is 11-11:30pm a reasonable timeframe to be expecting to be checked into my room?

Thanks in advance 😀

MGM Grand to Close Buffet, Leaving Vegas Strip with 7

No one should shed a tear for this overpriced version of a Golden Coral buffet. Before COVID 19 it was a convenient way for MGM Grand hotel guests to get an affordable breakfast, lunch, dinner, but after 2020 it became mediocre and too expensive. For the last 4 years there's never really been a long line to get in because the word got out online that it was a tourist trap, bad to mediocre food only open for breakfast and lunch. Cost is $32-$43 depending on what day of the week you go.

Has anyone got the invite and been on the 'Fortuna' at Bellagio? I watched from my balcony. Dude had a great view!

How high do you have to play I wonder to get the invite? I would think it'd be loud... And wet. 😁

Getting recommendations for food away from strip

Hi, I'm getting into Vegas at 2 AM and trying to get food with friends, but I need some recommendations for places away from the Strip that are open late. If you can help, thank you so much.

I need King Crab…

Hi - I’ll apologize up front. I know this question has probably been asked a thousand times. But all the recommendations I see are old.

We are coming from Kentucky next month for an anniversary trip. Have a lot of fun things planned… Sphere, BTS Concert and AMAs. But the one thing I want so bad is some good King Crab. I’m from SC but live in KY and seafood in the Midwest is TRASH. I’d even settle for good snow crab.

Are there any places to get AYCE crab anymore? Or really good king crab prices? I’m open to taking an uber off strip if it’s not horribly far. I just want some good quality seafood. It doesn’t have to be upscale or anything…only requirement is clean and good quality (aka I won’t spend my trip sick lol).

We keep cookbooks and tool manuals... but nothing for basic medical care?

This started as a random thought during a power outage: what do we actually do if we can’t Google every symptom or call a doctor?

Not even end of the world stuff. Just being somewhere remote, camping, traveling, or during a long blackout when cell towers are down. I realized most of my “medical knowledge” is basically searching symptoms and a first aid course I took like 5 years ago as a job requirement.

That rabbit hole led me to The Home Doctor, a book written by a surgeon from Venezuela who practiced medicine during their healthcare collapse. She and other doctors had to relearn how to diagnose and treat people without machines, labs, or reliable medications (practicalhealthhandbook.com I got the book here for anyone interested to save you a search, it's not available on Amazon or in the big book stores yet).

The book is very grounded. It focuses on recognizing serious red flags, managing common issues safely at home, and knowing when something is actually an emergency. No wild claims, no miracle cures, just what worked when help and supplies weren't available.

It made me uncomfortable in a good way. Like realizing how fragile our dependence on tech really is. Curious how others here think about this, especially people who spend time off grid or in remote areas.

Sapphic Dating

Sapphics of Vegas, where are we meeting people? What apps are we using? I can't keep holding the usual apps upside down and shaking them hoping a butch will fall out. 😭 I'm in my early thirties. I like to go out, but I'm a bit of a introvert.

Anybody see these three guys while walking the strip today? Any clue what they are doing?

My guess it's some type of image capture, but that's a guess. The guy in the middle had a camera on the front of his helmet facing downward at his face. The two other guys were keeping their front and back positions the entire time with their doo-dads pointed at him.

EDIT: I did ask them what they were doing. They said they couldn't say.

Snow crab?

Where is the best place to get all you can eat crab legs? Preferably under 50 per person and doesn't require 20 dollar parking?

girlfriends 21st

hey guys i was hoping someone could help me with ideas. me and my girlfriend are going to las Vegas for her 21st and sadly we don’t have a great budget for day to day activities. we already have a pretty solid plan of things to go to that are either cheap, free, or already paid for. i did wanna make her actual birthday feel special though aside from all the plans we have. she doesn’t like alcohol, she wants to try the slot machines, and she likes bigger romantic things. the first day we get in is her birthday but we’ll be in the airport in California basically half the day. does anyone have some good ideas that could help make the first day feel super special without being a break the bank type of thing. thank you guys for your help.
