Coolant cotton candy, what’s going on?

A buddy noticed this in my 99 Gs4 today, seems like it’s been going on for a while since nothing’s wet and it’s all dried out. We believe it’s coming out of a connection attached to a heater core hose (could be wrong). There was more gunk than pictured, we just blasted it with some brake cleaner.

Had my coolant flushed a couple years ago, don’t know if that has any relevance.

Suspension kits that maintain ride quality.

Looking to get a suspension kit for my 91 ls400. Car rides like a dream and I want to keep that as is. Anything stock ride height or even a little lower would be perfect. Anyone have any ideas?

Does anyone know this guy?

This is really random but my brother has been looking to buy a LS400 and found this one on marketplace and said he possibly negotiated it down to $2k. We took a 45 minute drive down to Lehi only for it to be the wrong address. We texted and called and asked for the correct location with no response. We were trying to figure out where the car was ourselves, which led to me reverse image searching an image he gave us and leading me to the reddit post I attached above. Nearly 2 hours later, when we finally decided to call it quits and just go home he calls us and starts acting like he can’t speak english and basically takes a big fat piss on me and my brothers. Can anyone help me with this???

Gs300 or LS400

Which one would you buy?

Im looking at a 2000 gs300 140k miles vs a 1997 ls400 200k miles.

Which one will last longer? Personally i prefer the looks of the ls and think its the more reliable option

I Might Get Banned For This

Hello everyone,

As we all know, the well beloved LS line will be discontinued (as a luxury sedan at least for the time being). While this is disappointing, I want the legacy of the lineup to live on.

I have just created r/Lexus_LS where we will be posting all things Lexus LS! Photos, mods, questions, maintenance, you name it!

So if you are an owner, fan, whatever, please consider joining! Sub is in its infancy, but I plan on making post daily!

With love,

Can’t catch a break

Happened in DTLA, left my car parked for four hours and came back to this. Was parked facing the sidewalk, not close to anyone at all. It’s just pure vandalism, in the last picture you can see their footprint. It’s funny just how fucked up this shit is but I am very very over it. Anyone know what I can do to replace or just cover up the bare metal? It’s already starting to rust.

WE CONTROL THE VALUE OF THESE CARS

I OFTEN see other owners telling owners, “your car isn’t worth that” when in fact, if we all hold eachothers hands, stand tall and firm, all of our cars could be worth 20-30k!

Everyone in the LS400 community, let's remember that we, as owners, hold the power when it comes to the value of our rides. It's about more than just the metal and wheels; it's about the passion, care, and stories we pour into them. Each modification, every clean, and all those shared experiences at meets and on the road add to their worth. We're not just drivers; we're curators of automotive culture, so let's keep building that value together, one car at a time.

LS400 92 AC clutch

Hi everyone. I've got a 92 Euro spec LS400 which is quite a rarity in my country. One question regarding the AC. Could it be that the AC clutch is bad? I've attached the video. At 00:01 the AC is turned on and it automatically stops at 00:24. It seems that AC doesn't rotate with same speed as a belt. Any ideas?

The AC compressors are quite hard to come by in my area.

p.s. it was raining that's why you can see water in the undertray

I don’t know what to do with my car

So I’ve had my 1991 Ls400 for about 4 and a half months now. I bought it for $6400 and I’ve had to put about another $2000 into it for repairs and stuff. This might not be the right place to ask about this stuff but I’m a senior in high school about to go to college in a few months and my job pays around $100-300 a week depending on my shifts and my insurance is $200 a month. I just took it back from the mechanic today and they told me it needs a new A/C compressor which would be around $1200-1500. My odometer also broke about a week after I bought it which I haven’t fixed yet. I love my car but it’s getting pretty expensive to maintain which is expected for a price like that on fb marketplace. Should I cut my losses and try to sell it for a little profit or double down and save up for the new compressor? Sorry for the long post lol I need advice.

Follow up to my follow up.

28 years old and the original books, first aid kit, tools, and cd magazine remain intact. The exterior is 7.5/10, I’ll eventually try to replace the cracking PPF and fill in the hole in back bumper, but it’s straight and clean. The interior is astoundingly well preserved. Every single thing works. The gauges, all the power accessories, the AC, the power seatbelt adjusters. Smooth as butter going down the road. It’s throwing a CEL for a bad crank or cam sensor that he is going to replace before sale, and then we’re gonna take it for a PPI just to make sure I’m not missing anything. But it’s true what they say, they don’t build them like this anymore.
