Dorm Help/Advice

Hello, I'm an incoming undergrad Freshmen and I needed some advice when it comes to the dorms.

  1. What would you rank the buildings? I like a very chill and clean area so I'd prefer not to stay somewhere that is super dirty and frankly gross.

  2. Which buildings/dorms have their own bathroom/shower? That is something really important to me as I'm a huge germophobe.

  3. What's the difference between a "Single traditional room" and a "single suite?" I've done some research to see what the difference is but I can't find much.

Any help is much appreciated, Thank you!

SCU vs LMU

I am a current high school senior and I just got off the waitlist for santa clara university but I am already committed to LMU. I want to end up going to grad school and become a neurologist in the end. I also live in LA and have lived here my whole life so i have a know everything around LMU, SCU would be a whole new experience on that other hand but i heard it was a big party school and I am not big into parties or joining a sorority, so i’m worried about the social life. If i go to LMU i would be majoring in Psychology, if i go to SCU i would be majoring in neuroscience. Which school do you think is better for my end outcome and to end up with a good 4 years in undergrad but also make it my future career plan?

I'm deciding between Pepperdine and LMU which I got both in for finance. Pepperdine gave me about 50,000 in scholarship but LMU only gave me 15,000. I know that LMU finance is better but at the same time I don't think it's worth paying another 100,000. Where should I go?

I just got admitted off the LMU waitlist into the School of Film & Television, but it’s for Film, Television, and Media Studies (my alternate major). I’m honestly torn

If you’re in FTVMS or you know how SFTV works: is it realistic to get hands-on production experience from this major, or is production pretty locked down? And how hard is it to switch either into production or into like a business major later? I’m trying to decide whether it’s smarter to start at LMU and try to move around once committed, or do a year/two somewhere else and transfer. Thank you

Also if you’ve done it, what did your internships/jobs look like coming out of FTVMS? Thanks!!

Recent post grad college students moving to Culver City area. Anyone recommend complexes popular with people in their early to mid 20s?

Looking for a 2 to 3 bedroom place for around 5k to 7k total rent per month.

Let me know where a lot of people like to live!

I am deciding between two schools in my last few days before I have to commit. SLU offered me 44,000 a year in scholarships, bringing the cost to about 34,000 with room and board. LMU offered 15,500 and rejected my appeal, bringing them to about 60-70,000 a year. Only thing is that my dad lost his job after 2024(year counted in fafsa), so I may get more aid in the next years. I am a theology major but I will likely double major in business(or possibly pick up film in LMU) and I have a heavy interest in music(which I will be minoring in) specifically in playing in a band with others. I spoke to the editor in chief of the LA Loyolan, who said he could put my name on an interest list to get me a position. LMU also has a Greek studies department which is rare, and would benefit me in a lot of ways because I am Greek myself. I never visited SLU, but LMU had an amazing campus and overall experience. My parents say they will help me with tuition and are encouraging me to go to LMU which is my dream school, but I don’t know what to do.
