Does anyone have any fic recs where the writing, characterisation and vibes are really similar to the actual show? I’m looking for a believable, somewhat slow burn of a fic. Not super smutty - or no smut at all really. But you can cut the tension with multiple knives. I’m open to long shots and one shots - post canon, mid canon, whatever. Something that sort of recreates that Season 1/2 feeling, ya know?

Thank you, you beautiful strangers, in advance 🩷

What drew you in?

I'm just wondering, when did you guys become interested in the show's storyline? What was the moment that drew you in?

I was hooked from the 1st episode (almost from the beginning when Villanelle tips over that little girl's ice cream), specifically from the moment she kills that Italian mafia boss with her hairpin.

I'd never really seen a show portray a more interesting and unusual way of murder right in the first episode. And Jodie's acting in that scene... Such amazing micro expressions that instantly drew me in, and I realised Villanelle would prove to be a very complex and compelling character. And Eve as well. She's intense and passionate from the get-go, I resonated heavily with her as well. I really love it when characters are written like that. Initially, I also really liked Bill. That was short-lived, which was sad, but nevertheless, his character also made me instantly realise that Eve is, like Villanelle, a complex character as well, which made me very interested in Villaneve's dynamic as well. I binged the whole of S1 in one sitting. That's how immersed I was.

At the tea dance, Eve sensed Villanelle's distress and sought to bring her relief on the dancefloor. In another universe, E and V are waiting for events to unfold while sheltering in a flat in London. Eve is reclaiming her dance time--after all, they were rudely interrupted by Rhian--and has assembled a playlist.

What songs did Eve put on the playlist? (Spotify should let you add to this list. We already have smoking playlists with the music of Unloved and Eve does not need to duplicate this.)

Add a song and tell us why Eve chose it. I believe Eve would include David Lindley and El-Rayo-X's version of Werewolves in London because 1) she guesses that V would be intrigued by the entire concept and 2) will dig the howling, plus, 3) she hopes V might share with her her Russian heritage, perhaps a traditional polka-like dance.

Your addition?
