Commander Leaf Blood watched as the air ship landed. Coming to hover just above the ground, as if the land it's self had been cursed. LeafBlood was waiting in their briefing room and watching from there.
Reports and details of the events had been coming in. The orb net broadcast had been received locally, however news of the event had yet to spread quickly. The elves here were still busy celebrating the end of the mid night rain festival, and the transition of the season to the fire elves.
Two of the town guards approached Ephemera Anul and Celestine as they departed from the airship;
"Greetings. We have been sent by the commander to meet you here and escort you to meet with the captain." They looked well dressed enough, and presentable.
The city streets were filled with revelers. The streets were filled with confetti and other party favors. Empty cups and discarded trash lined what appeared to be normally clean streets. Automations roam the alleyways, cleaning debris and other waste as quickly as it accumulates.
The air of the city is one of celebratory enjoyment. There doesn't seem to be much panic, unless you know where to look for it. Even as the party rages and the civilians seem entirely unaware of the impending danger, guards can be seen quietly rallying into groups, carrying large crates and making preparations, as well as escorting other VIPs to the briefing room as well.
The two guards escort you not to the kings' court, but to the garrison. Here is where the guard captain and local troops rally and distribute materials and orders. This also seems to be where a majority of those being collected are gathered.
Once inside, Lead Blood has assembled a dozen other elves. Ephemera and Celestine make 14. Blood Leaf stands at the head of the table, a map of the island behind him.
BloodLeaf looks to the room in silence before speaking;
"Thank you all for gathering here on such short notice. I'm sure you're aware of the nature for our meeting, however if not - that is what the debriefing is for."
He pauses a moment, watching the room and then delivers the news;
"Hydris City has fallen. King Rain is dead."
More than half the table seems surprised by the news, before anyone can grieve he continues;
"King Solomon is the new ruler of Hydris City. King Rain gave him the crown and ceremonial powers, so it is beyond our power to revoke his title. At this time, we will be giving conflicting orders to the crown of the empire, as we do not see King Solomon as the rightful heir to the empire. Anyone who disagrees with this decision and wishes to appeal to King Solomon is free to do so and leave at this time."
Surprisingly, two of the elves excuse themselves from the table and take their leave.
"Loyalty to the crown runs deep." Leaf Blood says;
"I do not blame them."
A moment after they leave he continues;
"However, we have a duty to the all the emperors, not just the ones of Helm's Rest. It is our job to ensure regional security and safety here, so as to ensure the security of the rest of the empire."
Leaf Blood then looks to the table;
"I'm open to ideas at this point. There are no bad suggestions. Brain storm anything you have;" Leaf Blood offers to the table;
