Jigoro gave Kaigaku everything he wanted: a roof and food, stability, the power to never have to be weak again. He gave him love and believed in his future. And Kuwajima didn’t seem like the kind of person who just leaves you as he found you; he tries to teach you to become a better person, just like he did with Zenitsu when he told him it’s okay to be afraid.
So what went wrong? Did Jigoro not do enough, or was he not what Kaigaku needed? Could another character have guided Kaigaku onto the right path?
