The "Uuuuhhh" Noise. Unbearable

This isn't my bike but finally found a video who can replicate the exact sound issue I have been having for months now. The uuuu sound I get is 10 times multiple of what you hear in the video. The intensity slowly increases and above 90 it's almost unbearable to an extent that it's been 2 months I have stopped touring completely. I have had the bike inspected completely, taken out top rack, chain sprocket is good, wheel bearing is good. No cracks anywhere even in the chasis. I need your hel guys, no one is able to figure it out and I am struggling. In the end, all the mechanics say "This is typical adventure bike noise". Which is bogus, trust me when I say - I am literally scared to go over 90, the shrill and intensity of the noise in the helmet is so high.

Need advice before booking the KTM Adventure 390 350cc

Hi everyone,
I recently saw the new KTM Adventure 390 350cc in white/orange and absolutely loved it. I’m planning to book this color.
I’m considering ordering through Amazon because of the ongoing offer, but I’m unsure about the payment process due to my credit card limit.
Has anyone here purchased a KTM through Amazon? I’d love to hear about your experience with the ordering process and payment.
Thanks in advance!

Im not that big expert about bikes but i do know some basics and need to know stuff.
Suggest me some good practices to maintain this bike and especially about how to get pretty good mileage on this.

Young engine care

Hey folks,
I just got done with the first service for my Adv 390S. Rode sedately mostly under 6500rpm odo stands at 970. Now post first service and runin i though i'll be able to stretch the bike's legs and have fun but the service advisor asked me to follow the same procedure for 3000kms. Does this make sense or I can ignore him and start red lining now.

Is this sound normal ?

Let's start from the beginning - I owned a Triumph Speed T4. A while ago, the engine developed an irregular metallic clicking/ticking noise that became more noticeable once the engine warmed up and increased with RPM. The service center inspected the bike and initially suspected an internal engine issue, mentioning that the engine might need to be opened and parts such as the connecting rod assembly could be involved. Because of this, I became quite concerned about the engine's long-term reliability and lost confidence in the bike and eventually decided to purchase a new KTM Adventure 390 (350cc variant) as a replacement.

Now I have a question regarding the engine sound of my new KTM Adventure 390. Compared to the Triumph, the KTM engine sounds quite different and has its own ticking/clicking mechanical noises, especially when idling and after the engine warms up. As someone who recently went through a suspected engine issue on another motorcycle, I'm probably being extra cautious and paying attention to every sound. I've attached a video/audio clip of the KTM. Does this sound normal for the latest Adventure 390 engine, or do you hear anything unusual? I'd appreciate feedback from owners who are familiar with the bike's normal engine characteristics.

Thank you.

Experiencing sensitive steering and handlebars wanting to wobble at 45mph+

I just bought a used 2020 390 adventure. It’s got 7300 miles on odo. I reset the suspension back to factory settings on the front forks (15 clicks on both from right) and the rear shock preload is at the stock 3rd setting. I don’t have any luggage or weight on the back of the bike. I weight 175lbs.

I also checked the steering head bearing and it seems to be fine and tight. But at high speeds the bike feels too unstable I’m scared to go any faster as I want to do some highway trips. The tires are the stock ones and have a lot of life left and it doesn’t seem to be unbalanced. I just tightened my chain and did the alignment too as I thought that could be the issue but it didn’t make much of a difference. (Also I took the windscreen off in the photo to clean it, has been installed again)

Any ideas? I’ve read other people have these issues and then others don’t and the bike is super stable.

Cancelled my TVS RTX booking after delivery slipped from September to Diwali. Going with KTM ADV 390 instead.

I finally cancelled my TVS RTX booking today. When I booked the bike, I was clearly told that delivery would happen in September. After a few follow-up emails, I was then informed that delivery had been pushed to October. Yesterday, when I visited the showroom personally, I was told that I would “most likely” get the bike by Diwali, which means sometime in November.

The delivery timeline keeps changing every time I ask. September became October, and now October has become November. There seems to be no certainty whatsoever. As a customer, I don’t mind waiting for a good product, but I do expect transparency and realistic timelines.

After months of waiting and changing delivery commitments, I decided enough is enough and cancelled my booking.

I’ve now decided to go for the KTM Adventure 390. At least the bike is readily available, and the 390 engine platform has been around for years with a proven track record, a huge owner community, and well-established service support.

I was genuinely excited for the RTX and wanted it to succeed, but constant delays and uncertainty completely killed the excitement for me.

6’5” Rider – Himalayan 450 Felt Cramped. Will KTM 390 Adventure Be Better?

I’m 6’5” (196 cm) and recently test rode a Himalayan 450.

A few things stood out:
My knees felt quite high and I couldn’t naturally grip the tank (tried the mana black with 860mm as well)

The bike felt heavier than I expected.

The engine didn’t really excite me when revving it out.
Overall I felt a bit cramped despite the bike being marketed as roomy.

I’m now considering the KTM 390 Adventure (new model) but haven’t had a chance to test ride one yet.

For riders around 6’3”–6’7”:
Did the KTM 390 Adventure feel noticeably roomier than the Himalayan 450?
How does the seat-to-peg distance compare?
Where do your knees sit relative to the tank?
Any issues doing 4–5 hour rides?
Did you need a taller seat, lowered pegs, or bar risers?
Also open to other bikes in a similar price range that fit very tall riders well.

Best Decision I ever took - Cheers to crossing almost 3k on the Odo

Purchased this beauty in March 2026

Done with first service

People on this sub or for that matter any other sub would be like -

This bike has vibrations, feels good only at its top end.....Struggles in lower gears....Is buzzy....Not so great mileage

To all those people - I will only say one thing -

Just hop on to the bike once and do a long tour and try to stand on the bike while riding.....Do an off road trail on this bike once and see for yourself.......

And its not like I am a pro driver - I am a noob

But this bike gives you that confidence, tech tools and speed to do that

The vibrations and mileage cries have faded for me in the background.

If you still have doubts about this beast, more than happy to clear them.

Side note - How does this video look? I don't post on Instagram....Hence here it is.......

Do let me know.

Cheers!

Sprocket for Adv 390 X 2025

Hey everyone,

I've been riding my 2025 KTM 390 Adventure X and have clocked 18,000 kms. The stock chain and sprockets are due for a replacement. Would love some guidance from fellow 390 Adv X owners before I pull the trigger on parts.

Here's what I need help with:

What is the stock front sprocket tooth count on the 2025 390 Adv X?
What is the stock rear sprocket tooth count?
Has anyone changed the tooth count on either sprocket? What gearing combo are you running and what difference did you notice?
Stock chain spec — pitch (520?), link count, and OEM brand?
Recommended aftermarket chain brands
Sprocket brands that fit without modifications — JT, Sunstar, Supersprox?
At 18k kms, should I replace both sprockets along with the chain?
I ride a mix of city commuting and weekend off-road/gravel. Thinking about going +1 on the rear for more grunt on trails without hurting highway cruising too much — but only if the stock tooth count makes that practical.

Any part numbers, tooth count recommendations, or firsthand experience is super helpful. Thanks in advance! 🧡

Noise at 5k-6k rpm

Hey everyone, since I installed the center stand, I feel like my 390 makes a sort of whistling sound when slowing down—specifically between 80–95 km/h and in the 5,000–6,000 RPM range. Has anyone else noticed this? Or is there a solution? Greetings from Germany.

Weird throttle issue after first service

So, i got the new adv 390(350cc), done my first service at 850km, now after first service these were my findings, i asked them to put motul engine oil

Vibrations are 50-60% less now i am very happy
There is an increase in mileage
Bike and engine are smooth

Now comes the weird part

When i am at 40-50km ans press clutch the rpm stays high at 3k around and slowly comes down to around 1500rpm, it feels like when i have pressed clutch still there is some throttle that bike is giving it i am not and it doesn't go down in one go

Before the service everything was fine and during service i was with them whole time they just changed the engine oil and oil filter nothing else

Does anyone know why it is happening or this is normal?
