r/K5Blazer

Hey everyone, this might be a really dumb question but I can’t seem to find consistent results online. I’m doing a 1 ton axle swap on my k5 blazer and I’m wanting to know if the 1 ton axles are wider than my factory ones. If so, how much wider?
I want to Chrome chevy swap the grill to my Cracked, Black GMC grill. Need help finding a link to the product. Yes i want the chevy bow tie on a GMC it looks better.
The one on the left is mine and I want to swap to the one on the right.. i’ll even keep the chevy badge because I originally wanted a blazer but got a nice deal. Help finding this exact grill would be appreciated very much. Thank you!
Could someone please tell me if this is a Dana 44 or a 10 bolt?
I’m wanting to do a bench seat swap in my k5 blazer(I know the stigma of being too hard to get into the back). I want to know any suggestions for options to swap in…
Thought it would be fun
Had a leak from the case seam and figured while I was in there, I might as well change some bearings and seals. Found my atf pickup totally plugged from someone else’s transfer case adventure, so I’m hoping to avoid that outcome.
First time really tearing into something substantial on the blazer, now I just need to get it back together.
My 78 K5 battery keeps dying, I tried putting a new alternator in there and it ran good and kept a charge for about 6 months. The problems arose again and now I’m at a loss. I pulled the alternator out and it was pretty gunked up so I swapped it again. I suspected a parasitic drain from the windshield wiper motor, so I swapped that too. The voltage shows that it’s not charging while driving. The connections to the alternator seem fine and intact. The belts seem a little bit worn but nothing too egregious. There was some slight corrosion on the battery cables ,but I cleaned it off and the problem remained. I’m pretty new to working on cars and can use all the help I can get. If you have any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
