Not a hot take, just a fact

No matter how people hate on Jonaxx for her "problematic" plots, wala kayong masasambit sa ugali niya. Lately I saw a rage bait doon sa problematic gp ng isang author na na call out lately — and yeah, that person is spreading rumour kung bakit "ilang daw ang mga Co teachers kay jonaxx noon" and someone even said something related to "homewrecking" kuno and that's a serious accusation. And siguro nga, sa sobrang untouchable ni J eh need niyo mag create ng kung ano anong narrative just so you can fill the gaps in your mind that makes you unable to acknowledge that she's a person too and that she's SUCCESSFUL.

And tbh, isa talaga sa tumatak sa'kin na good deeds ni Jonaxx is yung nagdonate siya sa mga nasalanta noon. Instead of naming it with hers, Jsls ang nilagay niya. And that secretly namakyaw ng books ng friends niya to help? And the fact that she established an app to extend help to other authors? Yeah fuck no, you can't bring someone who's enjoying their own playground just because you're bitter. She's kind, generous, passionate, and SUCCESSFUL without having to be loud about it. Kahit saang anggulo mo tignan, hindi mo makikitaan ng kahit anong yabang yang ea na yan dahil ang gusto lang naman niyan eh magsulat. Hate on her execution, hate on her plot, and hate on her writing but at the end of the day, she'll keep growing.

Grabeng utak yan

Found this on x, and apparently ATL is already conceived in ate j's genius mind 2018 pa lang!!! Grabeee, im in awe of her mind. Also, the fact na 2018 nya pa to tinease and recently lang nag-start yung ATL. She really has many tricks up her sleeve.

male dialogues

I’m always amazed at how Ate J writes male characters. Kuhang-kuha niya talaga yung way men talk and interact. Might get downvoted for this, but sometimes kasi when male characters are written, they become too emotionally expressive in a way that doesn’t feel natural. Parang you can immediately tell it was written from a female perspective.

May mga nabasa na rin ako before na sobrang cringe to the point na mapapaisip ka talaga, “May ganto ba talagang lalaki magsalita in real life?” Especially during emotional scenes na sobrang haba ng monologue or overly articulate ng feelings in a way that feels unnatural.

What I appreciate about Ate J’s writing is that the emotions are still there, but they’re delivered subtly , through short replies, banter, silence, or small actions instead of long dramatic speeches. sobrang realistic kasi ganon naman usually mga lalaki, especially with other men. Madalas tipid magsalita pero nagkakaintindihan na agad.

I remember the iconic scenes between mag BFF na Roul and Zamiel, and other scenes na magkakasama Riego cousins. Those conversations felt so authentic to me. Walang OA na dialogue, pero ramdam mo yung emotions and connection nila. Nakakaamaze lang how natural everything feels. 😭
