Does the Podcast Really need to Mature?

I’ve seen A lot of criticism for the pod & Joe specifically for always stepping on convos when they get serious. It seems like Marc is trying to use the platform to inform/educate & joes main focus is being entertaining at all times.

A lot of comments say that the pod isn’t the same as it used to be when r&m were there, that the audience has matured past the immature humor & want more thought provoking convos. While I understand some of the critiques, I’m not sure of the majority of the audience would really Enjoy a more, serious & mature pod in the long run. Do you think Joe should let Marc take the lead more & allow the more serious convos to flow? What does your ideal episode look like & What would you want them to discuss?

The show just can’t be consistent. After a great pod 920 , 921 falls flat. Joe constantly criticizing Marc for his views & topics is getting annoying af either let the man cook or if his topics could interfere with outside business such as ads or such then talk to him off camera about. The on camera scoffs are getting annoying & I wonder how long Marc is going to put up with Joe talking to him like that. I also notice Joe been shooting at Mona lately in ways he would do to Mel..

I find it very hypocritical that Joe the rest of the crew, especially Marc, were so quick to bring up D4vds music and choice of song titles as reasons why he killed his gf. These are the same ppl say lyrics should not be a determining factor in the court we’re so quick to adjudicate D4vds alleged transgressions. Mind you the song they referenced was released in 2022 and D4VD is not the primary author according to the credits.

Marc was quick to criticize Dave Chappelle regarding his venture in Saudi Arabia. However, he himself has traveled to Qatar, a country that has also been widely criticized for human rights violations. This is particularly notable given that Marc often presents himself as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, an issue that remains highly contentious in Qatar.

Additionally, there have been ongoing concerns about systemic racism in Qatar, especially regarding the treatment of migrant workers from East Asia and Africa. Reports have documented exploitative labor practices, including the confiscation of passports, extremely low wages, and poor living conditions. The 2022 FIFA World Cup further intensified scrutiny, as numerous workers reportedly died during the construction of stadiums and related infrastructure. Many were unable to leave the country due to restrictive labor policies.

In my view, Marc appears to shift his standards depending on the situation, often judging others while remaining less transparent about his own actions. For instance, he made disparaging remarks about a community center in Trinidad, seemingly due to personal dislike of Flip. Yet, the prolonged development of Dr. Umar’s school, which took many years to materialize, did not receive comparable criticism from him.

You can’t name me a podcast that got better material than the JBP.

I like Mona but as well as many kick her back in for the forced jokes, not so much about the looks. Show her some grace… today in my opinion was her best Performance. She cooked! It all came together. Punching like Rum Nitty back to back. They ALL hit(the jokes). Shouts to her.
