My mother's birthday happens to fall on Mother's Day so every year we would do a double celebration. We'll be in Jeju this month and I would like to bring her for a good meal.
She's already picked out a BBQ place (for lunch) so would like other recommendations for dinner! Ideally, I would like to make reservations if possible.
Cuisine wise, she is not keen on seafood. Otherwise, her palate is quite diverse.
Lastly, for budget, we are looking at around $60 - 80 per person? Thank you!
Had a wonderful week. Taken from a park in Seogwipo May 3.
For those who are not familiar, a monument for the Camino de Santiago was agreed to be located nearby Seongsan Ilchulbong a few years ago by the Jeju government in exchange with the Galicia government. two Dol hareubang volcanic statues were placed at Monte do Gozo in Santiago de Compostela. The motive: the different Olle and Caminos which attrack people
Hi, I'm curious about what the dating scene is like Jeju, if there are couples or success stories? I'm aware (or was told the dating scene is basically non-existent) but I wanted to ask on here for some insight
Just ended my 6d5n Jeju + Udo Island trip. AMA!
Dropped my phone today and broke it. I'm here for about another week, staying in Pyoseon-myeon. I'm travelling from the US and I have T-mobile, it's been working great on roaming data. I'm looking for an unlocked phone I can just pop my sim into. If anyone knows of a place I can get one or is selling one themselves, I'm happy to take a taxi to wherever!
So I’m planning to visit Jeju island with my mother (who is not the best at climbing due to her issues with legs but can walk) and we have 2 half days and 1 full day. We are planning to hire a private driver tour hired via klook.com. It’s our first time in Jeju and we are confused about which side of the island we should prioritize in our limited time. Any recommendations? 🥺
I'm posting this because I have a question about the Jeju language (제주말). I want to know if historically and maybe even currently Hanja was read in a different way and if yes, is there any way to look up how certain Hanjas are read in Jejuan compared to (standard) Korean.
I asked some Korean friends and they had no idea, though admittedly I don't have any Korean friends from Jeju. I also asked in some language-related groups on Facebook but no one could give me a definitive answer beyond "probably".
Considering the differences between Japanese and Okinawan (as well as other Ryukyuan languages) and between the many Chinese languages in how Hanja/Kanji/Hanzi are read out, I'd expect Jejuan to also have different readings but I can't find any evidence for this.
