What’s this thing worth?
2000 TJ Sport with 220k. 4.0L Factory configured for a hardtop but I don’t have it. Has a brand new 32RH automatic (Dec 2025) with less than 3,000 miles on it (5 years 100k mile warranty still). No rust on the underside except some surface rust on the exhaust. Has D30/35
New wheels and tires with less than 3,000 miles. Interior is mostly perfect. Engine is solid (everything stock under the hood and cleaned). All fluid has been changed. New front rotors and calipers. New Toyota Cruiser headlamps. Has a new single din CarPlay to maintain factory aesthetics. No lift. Cable conversion for transfer case, haven’t needed to use it yet. Upgraded speakers with commonly recommended Polk speakers with a mini Alpine amp.

Long arm vs short arm
i’ve been trying to decide what type of lift/brand for my tj. it has a 4 inch short arm lift on it now that’s all blown out and clunks and would just like to replace everything and have it driving solid. i never drove a lifted jeep that was properly setup suspension wise without clunking or banging only had this 05 previously lifted and my stock 02 (had an 02 that i found frame rust on it when i was putting a 4 inch lift i had bought for it). i was looking at the rusty’s 5.5 longarm kit and i really like the kit, it seems very complete, and i understand that they’re a good company but with that said the kit is 3k and i was wondering if i could just get away with buying a rough country long arm kit and that would suffice me (im not rock crawling or putting the jeep through heavy heavy offroad abuse just want comfort and a solid suspension lift kit for light to mild off-roading). i have no problem paying the 3k if the kit is worth it but if i can get away with a slightly cheaper kit would be nice as well (more money for my gun hobby lmao). also curious on if it would be better to just keep it short arm and buy new components, would love to hear pros and cons for both short arm and long arm.
Pricing Question
I’ve got a 2002 Wrangler I’m trying to help someone sell, but I’m not sure how to price it. I just sold my 89 YJ with the 2.5 for $6,800, but I think it was in significantly better shape than this one is.
It’s got around 120k on it, 4.0, 5 speed NV3550, and also has working AC. The frame is in decent shape and I don’t see any bad rust on it. The paint is like a 5/10.
It’s got a lot of weird questionable things done to it, like the Gladiator wheels that I’ve taken off and put stock ones on. All the original soft top hardware is missing except the rails on the tub. I don’t know why they took the backseat out and all the seat belts for it and they’re not with the Jeep anymore. The heater core is blocked off but I’m not sure if it’s leaking or not.
The biggest thing is that the transmission is losing the synchros for 3rd gear.
I put new plugs, IAC, TPS, coil pack and replaced a number of vacuum lines. So it runs well.
I priced out swapping a rebuilt AX15 into it, since it’s cheaper than the NV3550. But the person that owns it doesn’t want to spend the money on it.
I just don’t know how to price it. I was thinking list it for $4,000 and see what offers I get. But I’m really not sure.
Another newbie learning question
Is this the OG wires for 2004 Jeep TJ (1st pic) or is this an aftermarket add in? I just picked up a JVC KW-M785BW(2nd pic) and trying to match up wires that I’ll be splicing
The radio that I just took out was a JVC KW-Z1000W and I was hoping it’d be plug and play but not so much
Thank you all in advance 🤙🏻
