Hundreds of millions of people watch football every year and it is the most popular sport on the planet, so naturally the players at the very top can expect to be well rewarded. Clubs compete to draw in talent and create the most cohesive set of players they can. Teams are battling hard to win different league competitions every year, which can bring a lot of respect and money. So which players have negotiated the highest playing contracts, which like everything else is going higher relentlessly every year.

#10 David Alaba - €22.5 million

Playing for Real Madrid in La Liga, his contract expires later this year and reportedly included a signing bonus. It makes a weekly wage of €432k (£371k)

#9 Mohamed Salah - £20.8 million

He has one of the highest salaries in European football with a roughly 400k weekly wage, but will also be bringing in extra from bonuses and sponsorship agreements.

#8 Kalidou Koulibaly - €34.7 million

In the current season he is playing for Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, with his weekly wage around 667k (which is around £579k). This contract runs until the end of June 2026.

#7 Sadio Mané - €40 million

Playing with Al-Nassr since leaving Bayern Munich in 2023 when he signed a 3 year contract. Each week it brings in about €769k (£645k) and he also has deals with companies like New Balance.

#6 Erling Haaland - £45 million

He has managed to negotiation a super long 9 year contract that will run through to 2034 and plays for Man City. This works out to over £800k each week. He earns substantial extra bonuses on top of this.

#5 Riyad Mahrez - €52.2 million

The star of club Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia after leaving Man City. He gets an additional €7.8 million in performance bonuses every year as well. His contract will run out in 2026-27.

#4 Lionel Messi - $70 million

It comes with a base salary of $20.5 million and the rest made up from various bonuses. He's going to be with Inter Miami at least until the 2028 season after recently signing an extension.

#3 Kylian Mbappé - €70 million

Combining his fixed annual salary of €31.2 million, he also gets over €160 million in bonuses that are spread over the 5 year term - if he hits certain targets.

#2 Karim Benzema - €100 million

While playing for Al-Ittihad in the Saudi Pro League, his contract runs out in the 2026/2027 season. This equates to over 1.6 million per week

#1 Cristiano Ronaldo - €200 million

Earns an incredible amount compared to the other players on this list, meaning he earns around €4 million per week at Al-Nassr for his skills - along with any other endorsements he has.

What do you think of these numbers and who do you anticipate making it on to this mega list in future?

I’ve been spending some time on Jackpotter lately and wanted to ask specifically about the “boxes” feature.

At first I didn’t really pay attention to it because I’m used to just playing slots, but once I tried it, it actually felt pretty different. It’s not just random spinning - there’s a bit of choice involved and it creates that extra tension when you’re deciding which box to open.

What I’m still not sure about is how people here actually use it long-term. Do you treat it like a main feature, or more like something occasional for fun?

From my side, it feels more engaging than i expected, but I’m still figuring out if it’s something worth focusing on or just a side activity compared to regular games.

Would be interesting to hear how others are using it:

• Do you stick with certain patterns or just go random?

• Do you think it’s actually better value than standard games?

• Any strategies or just pure luck?

Curious to hear different approaches.
