Hi guys, I’m coming to ICMR-NIRTH (National Institute of Research in Tribal Health), Jabalpur for 2 month internship (May-June). I am from Pune, Maharashtra. If you have any idea, can you please tell me how’s the institute and everything? Also, any suggestions regarding survival there for 2 months? How’s food and nearby tourist sites?

This happened on Thursday, April 16. I was dropping my mother to her office and then heading to coaching. Near Galaxy Hospital on MR-4 Road, I was riding directly behind an ambulance.

The ambulance signaled left. I signaled right to overtake from the right side. At that exact moment, a guy on an Activa came at high speed from behind and cut me off. My vehicle was destabilized but did not fall. I calmly told him to ride carefully.

That was apparently enough to set him off.

He started abusing me. I ignored him and moved forward. He followed me, kicked my moving vehicle twice, then blocked me from the front, got off, and began using filthy abuses targeting my mother and sister. He also smashed my helmet.

Throughout this, I did not retaliate. I told him — even after all of this — that the mistake was his, that he should have seen my indicator. He continued abusing and hitting regardless.

To the people of Jabalpur: this happened on a public road in the middle of the day. The person who started this incident was in the wrong — he was speeding, did not observe my indicator, cut me off, and then responded to a polite remark with violence and verbal abuse.

The individual was returning from the gym. That does not place anyone above traffic rules, road etiquette, or the law of this country. Intimidation on the road is a criminal offense. Causing hurt, using criminal force, and causing damage to property are all punishable under Indian law.

I want to be honest — something like this has never happened to me before. I am genuinely scared to ride to my coaching now. No one should feel unsafe on their own city's roads simply because someone else cannot control their aggression.

If anyone witnessed this incident near Galaxy Hospital on MR-4 Road on April 16, your account could support the complaint.

Stay alert on the roads. Document vehicle numbers. Do not let incidents like this go unreported.

TL;DR:

Got cut off near Galaxy Hospital, MR-4 Road on April 16 by a guy returning from the gym. Politely asked him to ride carefully. He followed me, kicked my moving vehicle twice, blocked me, smashed my helmet, and abused my mother and sister. I did nothing wrong.

hey guys! Im not a local, I have a flight from jabalpur airport on 22nd of april and i was trying to catch a cab from my hotel to the airport but someone told me i cant take a cab till the airport. Is it true? If no suggest me the cab app you guys use and what should i be aware of.

(Im from south of india and i dont speak hindi because of which people have charged me extra)
