Operation Trident (1971) , Painting by Thomas Jacob; India’s Deadliest Naval Offensive: The Night When the Sun Rose in Pakistan's Karachi

Operation Trident was a devastating naval strike launched by the Indian Navy on Karachi on December 4–5, 1971. The attack destroyed 3 Pakistani warships, devastated Karachi’s naval infrastructure, and obliterated over 50% of its fuel storage tanks, triggering massive fires that burned for more than seven days — all without a single Indian casualty.

So, I am about to graduate with my B.Tech in ECE. As I am from a Tier 3 college, my college is about to end in less than 5 days, and I have done an internship at ISRO in the ECE domain. And I don't want to do a job in the ECE domain. However, I am still not placed.

I am also unskilled for a software employee position. My only goal is to become an armed forces officer. I have never taken AFCAT or CDS.

My question is:

  1. Should I first fully prepare and get a job, then start preparing for defence exams?

  2. While preparing for off-campus placements, should I simultaneously prepare for defence exams?

  3. Or should I fully focus on defence exams like AFCAT, CDS, CAPF, and other uniformed services?

Can anyone who has faced this situation share their experiences?

Jindal Defence Taurus offering exclusive discounts on civilian handguns for serving and retired personnel from the Armed Forces, CAPF, and State Police. The offer covers all three civilian models:
✅ PT 57 SC (.32 ACP)
✅ PT 58 HC Plus (.380 ACP)
✅ RT073 (.32 S&W Long)

Behind every uniform is a level of sacrifice most people never fully see. It’s good to see initiatives like this that recognize and respect that commitment.

I have applied for SSC Navy, and today when I checked my dashboard, it says I have been shortlisted for SSB and the call-up letter will be uploaded soon. However, I have not yet received any email from the Navy regarding the SSB shortlisting.

As I am a fresher, I have no idea regarding this. Am I the only one who did not receive the email, or is this the case with everyone? Did everyone out there receive a shortlisted mail?

It would be great if someone could clarify this
