According to you which movie is this? 🤔
Rant- Why Indian Filmmakers mess up their own films?
I have a problem with any mainstream filmmaker in India who interviews that "this movie is my dream project" and hype everyone with it and when we watch it, it's literally one of the worst and illogical movies of all time.
Look at Kalki, a so called ambitious project but like Arshad Warsi rightly said, they made the main protagonist look like a joker. There was no proper purpose of Prabhas' character or any point in time where we could feel any genuine connection with him, let alone them ruining the original mahabharat story for the sake of their story.(Karn and Ashwathama were enemies. Karn always abused Drona and it was cringe whenever he called Ashwa "Guru putra")
Same with Brahmastra. They messed up what celestial weapons are firstly, but then they created their owns Superpowers and went on to f*** it up???
Nagarjuna's power is " Sahastra nandi astra "
Mathematically, 1 nandi = 10 million Bull Power.
Sahastra nandi = 1000 nandi = 10,000 Bull Power.
That's stronger than Hulk!! And he can't even push a bloody Truck????? Excuse me????
Even SRK messed up Ra.One's screenplay when he was unclear whether to make it for kids or adults.
Even the franchise or universes get worse with each installations(YRF spy, Lokiverse, pushpa, kgf, stree universe, Rohit shetty copverse, etc) It feels they don't have any proper end or path in their mind for their stories.
And I don't understand why they all do it. apart from Rocketry, Kantara, Drishyam(high hopes for 3rd one) or Rajamouli movies, I haven't seen any other well made ambitious film here.
Idk what conviction they lack, or if they employ bad writers or if it's production that mess it up. But as long as this problem exist, we won't have Dune, Avatar, Terminator, Inception, etc level of movies.
Which movie/series comes to your mind first?
Can anyone tell me where these two people disappeared?
A movie which deserves a better hero. I'll start:
According to you, which movie fits this? 🎶
Bollywood movies that perfectly captured college life?
Do we even notice Hindi dubbing artists in films/shows?
I’ve been following the Hindi dubbing industry for around 6-7 years now, and I find it genuinely interesting, both as an industry and as a creative space, especially voice acting.
In India, a huge chunk of how we experience non-Hindi films (Hollywood, animated, regional like South Indian films or any other) is through Hindi dubbing, so I think it plays a bigger role than people usually acknowledge.
At the same time, over the past couple of years, I’ve found myself preferring original language versions more. Not because dubbing is bad as a whole, but because sometimes the essence or even the meaning of dialogues gets altered in adaptation, which affects the overall experience.
That said, I still have a lot of respect for voice artists, because most of the time, they’re not the issue. They’re working with what they’re given, and when things click, the result is actually great.
Some Hindi dubs I genuinely enjoyed:
- Cars (2006), Finding Nemo (2003)
- Fast & Furious series (especially 7 & 8)
- some MCU films like The Avengers (2012)
- Ben 10 (Classic 2005) - honestly top-tier adaptation
- Mass (2004) [Hindi: Meri Jung: One Man Army] - found the dubbing solid overall, including dialogues and voice choices
- Baahubali 1 & 2 - great dialogues mostly and Sharad Kelkar was an amazing choice for Baahubali (Prabhas)
Also, the Men in Black film series - somewhat flawed maybe due to change in meaning behind the lines, but ngl the Hindi version is hilarious. I did miss Ninad Kamat as Agent J in the 3rd film, but Amar Babaria did a solid job too.
There are also many voice artists who’ve done amazing work but are barely recognized by name:
Rajesh Kava, Mohan Kapoor, Shanoor Mirza, Saumya Daan, Joy Sengupta, Neshma Chemburkar, Meghna Erande, Uday Sabnis, and many more.
One artist I personally find very underrated is Viraj Adhav - not very visible publicly, but you might have heard his voice probably:
- Ethan Hunt (Mission Impossible)
- Peter Parker (Sam Raimi trilogy + Amazing Spider-Man)
- T’Challa (Black Panther, Infinity War)
- Johnny Bravo (Classic TV series)
Also, a slightly unpopular opinion maybe: I actually enjoyed the Hindi dubbing of Deadpool (2016) a lot.
Yes, some meanings were changed, but it still felt raw, fun, and entertaining. Sanket Mhatre as Deadpool was a deadly choice imo.
On the other side, I’d never recommend watching older, dialogue-heavy films in Hindi (especially ones with adult themes). Movies like Basic Instinct (1992) or Wild Things (1998) just lose too much in translation.
Props to the YT channels - Talent Tadka (Yogi) and Motor Mouth Show (Sonal Kaushal) - who brought a lot of artists from this industry in front of camera to let people know.
Would love to know what others here think:
- Do you prefer Hindi dubbed versions or original language (with subs)?
- Any Hindi dubbed films/shows you think were done really well? or ones that were completely off?
- Any voice artists you recognize or follow?
Curious to know if I’m the only one nerding out over this or if there are more of us lol. Thanks for reading
That ending in Maharaja didn’t just shock me, it genuinely broke me emotionally 💔🎬
Maharaja starts as a simple emotional thriller, but the deeper the story unfolds, the more heartbreaking it becomes
The film slowly connects every small detail until the final reveal changes your entire perspective.
That ending doesn’t just shock you, it stays with you long after the movie ends
