I was so taken aback by it all that it slipped my mind, its one of the songs she played that I don't have a video of that I rlly want a video of 😓 Also, does anybody know the name of the song ?
Atlanta Show was great. I feel so lucky and blessed
I really didn’t think I was gona get a chance to hand these pendents off to her. I was about to be mega sad if she never got to hold them. Then not long after the show finished (maybe an hour) I walked around and chatted with different ppl after the show. (Love getting to meet cool new strangers). And then I started walking to my car and BOOM. Turned the corner ran into Ichiko signing things for like 10 ppl. I got to hand her both these pendents I hand made and she signed my journal. (I can write more details on this interaction if you want) Still over the moon about finally meeting one of my favorite artists for the last 3 years. Such an amazing song writer. So I just wanted to share a bit of my highlight in Atlanta.
Just received this. Not sure if every ticket holder had received the email or just people like myself who had sent a complaint to customer support.
got back from durham show and it was fantastic! ethereal and beautiful as always. Waited about 20 minutes and she came out with her team to sign and greet some fans.
Damn, what a show! Ichiko is so amazing.
A couple of questions for those of us at the Atlanta show last night.
- Did she come out after and do autographs? She did this when I saw her in Chicago in 2022.
- What was the opener she played? I saw Space Orphans on the setlists on Spotify but it doesn’t sound quite like what she played. I could be wrong though!
Thanks in advance!
Was listening to the OST for TSHD, and the first track sounded familiar... turns out, the composer is Taro Umebayashi, a frequent collaborator with Ichiko, who also composed with her for COLORATURA. you can hear the similarities in COLORATURA from 3:25-end and in The Summer Hikaru Died (track) from 00:21-00:35 :D
I saw her Monday night in Atlanta, she was of course absolutely mesmerizing. Her opener, Charlie Martin, also gave a nice show.
I had a pretty decent view, but at my angle I was not able to see what was going on with her keyboard setup, and googling didn't answer my questions, was curious if anyone else knew what she had going on there?
From where I was positioned, it seemed like she had a small keyboard in a kinda wooden desk-looking stand, but it seemed like she had some kind of instrument on top of it that she was using at the same time. She mostly used it for adding in cool, very atmospheric sounds and effects. At first I thought she had a steel guitar on top of her keyboard with a whole lot of reverb on it to give it the kind of ethereal quality it added. But then I thought maybe it could be some kind of theremin-type device, the sound and the way she seemed to be interacting with it could fit.
But I could also be totally off-base and it could just be one of those keyboards that has some kind of physical input/modulator that she was interacting with.
Anyways I was curious if anyone else who'd seen her current tour had a better idea of what that was?
Just got back home and situated from the show and all I can say is wow. I have been following Ichiko for a couple years now and getting the opportunity to see them perform live was such an ethereal experience. While the intermission and pacing of the opener had a few of us confused it was all such an enjoyable experience. If you all have the set list from tonight please please put it in the comments. Also figured out once I got home that one of the shirts from the merch line is glow in the dark! Very cool!
I look chopped but I just got home from Atlanta and I had this song in my head from the show. I’m just going off my sonic memory but I have no clue what the song title is. I swear I’ve heard it on one of her old albums. It’s like this instrumental arpeggio thing she plays and it’s super cool. She played it as her first song on the red guitar 🎸 in Atlanta. Anyone know the name?
I plan to give these to Ichiko in Atlanta, which one do you think she’ll like more? Should I make more of these?
