Reminder - To remember Resets, one must have a lot of Determination. However, Monsters have very little Determination, but can still get a sense of deja vu.

My personal takes:

Madeline + Badeline: Determination is one of the main themes of Celeste. Madeline's drive to prove herself to herself and reach the peak of the mountain is what keeps her going, even as her doubts given form try to pull her down.

Despite her insecurities, she has a ton of Determination.

Niko: We literally see Niko regain their memories after a Reset in Oneshot. It took some egging on, but they still did it. And even without fully remembering everything, Niko still recognises that they've met Player before.
