Alumni of iit patna are not allowed to visit the college

Seems like alumni are not allowed to visit the college without a "define purpose" as some VP said ... dont be so childish you dont have that much of a leverage as iit situated in bihar.... beside this nobody have time to visit its just that somehow we end up in patna and make time to visit to revive old memory which takes 2 hr to reach given road infra of bihar got worse with time just to listen by security that alumniis not allowed, even iit Bombay allowed alumni to visit compus without question..but attitude of these alpha juniors are beyond their real life okat.

Need honest feedback on IIT Patna Hybrid MBA (GenAI & Product Management) – Worth it?

Hi everyone,

I recently enrolled in the IIT Patna MBA in Generative AI & Product Management (hybrid program) and wanted to get some honest, ground-level insights before I fully commit my time and expectations to it.

  • A bit about me: Background in Data Science + Economics ~2 years of experience (including government projects)

  • Goal: Transition into AI Product / Strategy / Consulting roles I chose this program mainly to: Avoid a career gap Add an IIT brand to my CV Move into higher-level roles (not just coding)

  • My Key Questions: Degree Value How is this hybrid MBA from IIT Patna perceived in the industry? Is it treated close to a regular MBA, or more like an executive/online program?

  • Alumni Status Do students from this program get full IIT Patna alumni status, or is it separate?

  • Career Impact Has anyone actually transitioned into Product / AI / Consulting roles after this?

Realistically, what kind of salary jump or roles can one expect? ROI Perspective Considering the fees (~₹4L), is the ROI decent if I’m already working? Or would building projects + experience alone give similar returns?

  • NET/SET Eligibility Since IITs don’t come under UGC, is this MBA valid for UGC NET/SET exams? Has anyone used such a degree for academic eligibility?

  • Program Quality How rigorous is the curriculum actually? Is it mostly theoretical or does it genuinely help in real-world applications?

  • Any red flags / downsides that aren’t obvious from the brochure or counseling calls?

My Intent I’m not relying on placements from this program. I plan to: Build projects Network actively Am I on the right track, or overestimating this program?

No good professors in CS Department

This has really been bothering me. I don't know what's the use of going to class when I am taught elementary maths let alone something new and fascinating.

DAV Course Slides

Like see the picture given from our DAV course slides (taught by Rahul Mishra Sir). Another of his course is IT Workshop which is also time waste. The AI course (taught by Suman Kumar Maji) is useless too, repeating the same easy things like search techniques and Neural Network. I am yet to find a person in CS dept who learned anything worthwhile in this course. And lets not talk about the Database course (taught by Satendra Sir) where the professors own attendance is falling short below 50%.

The course structures are a complete disasters. Labs are meant to build things on our own to help aid learning. But we are forces to gpt in order to complete a assignment within 2hrs which was meant to take 2 days of time.

But there are some good professors ig. As of now Jimson Mathew is one. His labs are good and he teaches stuff that actually make one familiar to what one is learning. Like real learning by making/building things. Thats where the difference lies. Although I would not deny the fact the Jimson causes a lot of trouble, but in the end find that in one course taught by a professor who was chill and all I didnt learn anything to put it and i hate them for that, and also I have no respect for such professor. On the other hand, I find that i respect knowlegable people like Jimson.

So my question is how long is this gonna go? Why no good profs?

Spandan 2026 IIT Patna freshers (CSDA) : groups, dance & orientation doubts

Hey everyone!

I recently got into the Spandan program at IIT Patna for Computer Science and Data Analytics, and honestly I’m feeling a mix of excitement + nervousness right now 😭

I wanted to connect with people who are joining the same course/program as me. If you’re in CSDA (or even Spandan in general), please drop a comment or DM! Would love to connect beforehand. Also, if there are any Discord/WhatsApp/Telegram groups, please add me 🥹

I also had a few doubts:

- For Spandan (orientation), especially cultural stuff like dance , do we have to prepare everything ourselves beforehand, or do they organize practice sessions there?

- Should we carry outfits/props from home?

- How much time do we actually get to bond with peers and prepare before performing?

Would really appreciate any insights from seniors or fellow freshers 💗

Looking forward to meeting you all!

What do you expect ?

For 2 terms now people have seen almost all posts go uncontested for Gymkhana.

I try to reason why this is the case, of course you don't wanna run around all year, sure some people enjoy taking initiatives, solving maybe some issues that they have faced themselves.

But if we'd be honest 7/9 candidates would be in it to pocket some money out of a fest or Inter IIT tech perhaps.

It's a shame how trivial it was assumed to be, fire an OC because of an insecurity and pocket money in double digits on the scale of lacs, that's what the institute junta thinks of the departing Gymkhana, turn an opportunity into an embarrassment for the entire college.

Is it only this college in particular where people lack the motivation to do good without pocketing money, you expect such a Gymkhana to stand up to the authorities also pocketing money ?

Screw away any coordinators who don't let you pocket out of a fest, or an inter IIT meet. Why were third year's given charge of the tech meet, cause the Gymkhana couldn't subjugate someone (capable) from there own year that easy ?

I don't mean to label all of them, of course there have been some passionate figures, but what use is it if the next or further down the line a guy lines up just to make money on fests.

I don't expect such a body to stand up effectively against the scum in this administration, one or two motivated people who try to pull it will always suffer the most.

Review on CEP IIT Patna MBA Programs

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to reach out to current students or anyone familiar with the online Master’s programs offered by IIT Patna.

From what I understand, the program is conducted in collaboration with MicroTek, and I’m aware that it may not carry the same weight or recognition as traditional on-campus Master’s degrees. However, my primary goal is not placements or prestige. I’m simply looking to obtain a Master’s degree.

My main question is: Is this degree formally accredited and recognized as a valid Master’s qualification? Specifically, would it be considered equivalent to a standard Master’s degree when applying for government exams or PhD admissions?

Thank you!
