Some Clarification on Hybrid Production?

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask this.

I have taken songs written and (very badly) recorded over 20 years ago and "covered" them using A.I. (Suno) from the original songs' uploaded files. The originals have only guitar (by either myself or my cousin), vocals (by me), and sometimes Fruity Loops beats/melodies (again, made by myself). While the final product/songs that I would potentially be posting here would be based on "real" human production (including all riffs and vocal melodies), what the listener hears is completely made by A.I. Am I violating any rules posting these songs?

In most cases, I have employed little to no post-generated DAW work (I'm still working on getting my chops up in this...) and have forgotten virtually everything I learned back then (how to "sing" and play guitar, properly mix and so on), so re-recording these songs from scratch or from generated AI stems is basically out of the question (at least right now). I've tried my hardest (for the most part) to keep these songs as "close as possible" to the original, but there are some very obvious differences (to me). There is always a bit of imposter syndrome with me and my/our music (especially around A.I.). I have all the original recordings, can tell you when and where each song was recorded, what equipment was used, and (depending on the song) where most of the lyrics were written and what they're actually referring to. In regards to the "Covered" Suno versions, I can say what prompts were used, what was changed in the 20 years between, and try my best to pinpoint the differences between the original and the "new version".

I completely appreciate what is being done here, but am unsure where my place is, if there is one. I feel constantly torn between the opposing forces of Suno-shillers peddling their "AI slop" and AI-hating musicians. I don't want to mis-represent myself as I don't consider myself much of a musician (though I could sorta play guitar at one point and have screamed terribly into a mic). I also don't know much about A.I. except it makes my old songs sound better (to me at least).

[Dark-Electro/Harsh-Electro] I Will Not Go Down (Testing 2 Recorded Vocal Styles in Suno 5.5)

Custom model in Suno with 39 songs of mine from 1997 to 2026. Split persona made by taking 2 a set of sung vocals of mine. Sung and Harsh (with light distortion effects on harsh) and combining them into one wav file and uploading to Suno to create the persona.

Still not 100% comfortable posting since that sung style is really spot on (I've never been a fan of that sound, but Suno is causing me to warm up to it). The harsh style is style I am more comfortable with since that's what I have actual tracks of me singing in out there. Not sure if this still fully counts as hybrid, but this is the first time, I've ever sat down and put a hard focus on singing a better sung track.

[pop] Curse of Ra - Robby and Botty

This is the first 'hybrid' AI song I've finished. It all started when I copied and pasted some random comment where someone said "curse of ra". And it was a bunch of heiroglyph looking stuff. Well I thought it was pretty funny when the lyrics came out as gibberish. And the song was catchy. So I added some extra parts. Pads. Synth. A keyboard solo. Heavier beats and better bass. some reverse reverb and a nice mix/master. Here's the video I made with Vizzio. And I'm including a screenshot of the Ableton session to give you an idea of how I created this. Thought some here may find it interesting. Stylewise this isn't what I normally make. Just having fun.

FREE beta build VOID app, offline multiple song slicer and dicer (10 songs at once)

VOID 1.0 is an offline, browser-based audio slicer and remixer designed for rapid sample manipulation. It allows users to break down audio files into precise "slices" (phrases, bars, beats, or transients) entirely within the browser, without cloud processing. Key features include a Pad Player with Ableton Drum Rack export and an Auto Remixer that generates new arrangements based on structural energy.

I’ve been working on a tool to speed up my own workflow for breaking down stems and flipping samples, and I finally got it to a place where I wanted to share it with you all. It’s called VOID 1.0.

It’s a fully offline audio slicer and remixer that runs entirely in your browser. I built it because I wanted something that didn't need a cloud upload just to get some clean chops. Here’s what it actually does:

  • Granular Slicing: You can drop in up to 10 tracks and instantly slice them by 8-bar phrases, 1/16th chops, or even specific transient hits and low-end/high-end isolations.
  • Pad Player: It has a built-in 16-pad layout where you can drag and drop your slices, play them with your keyboard (A–P keys), and record your performance.
  • Ableton Integration: Once you’ve laid out your pads, you can export the whole kit as an Ableton Drum Rack directly.
  • Local Remixer: If you're stuck, there’s an "Auto Remix" feature that builds a new arrangement for you based on things like "Energy Build" or "Section-Aware" logic.

It uses math to detect points in the song, and can even magically create a new song using the chops it made!

How to use it:
Since it's an .html file, you just download it and open it in any browser (Chrome/Edge recommended for the audio engine). Everything stays on your machine.

You can grab the file here: VOIDv1.html

I’d love to hear if this helps your process or if there are specific "modes" you think are missing. Enjoy! Also is there are any problems, it has an intro walkthrough, doesnt install anything

Defining Hybrid Music Production

I did my best in under 2 minutes to define what Hybrid Music is. This is also on YouTube. If you watch there and give me a like it helps a tiny bit.

I'm also working on a series of essays and more short videos on this same topic, hoping to further explain what can be done as we move into the future. You can follow me on Substack to get all the details.

ACR cloud, what it is, and why you should know.

With the explosion of generative AI, the line between "human-made" and "AI-assisted" is getting blurry. If you’re hanging out in r/hybridproduction, you’re likely blending live instruments, MIDI, and maybe even some AI-generated stems.

Distributors and labels are starting to use "sniffers" to flag content. One of the biggest players in this space is ACRCloud. Here’s a breakdown of what it is, why Suno is using it, and how you can use their free trial to check your own tracks.

What is ACRCloud?

Think of ACRCloud as "Shazam on steroids" for the industry. It’s an Automatic Content Recognition platform. While they’ve spent years helping companies identify copyrighted music via audio fingerprinting, they recently launched a specialized AI Music Detector.

Why does it exist?

As 60,000+ AI tracks hit streaming services daily, DSPs (Spotify, Apple Music) and distributors (DistroKid, TuneCore) need a way to:

Label content correctly (per the EU AI Act and new store policies).

Filter out low-effort spam that floods their servers.

Identify "Derivative Works" (aka someone taking a Suno track and trying to pass it off as an original master).

How Suno (and Udio) fits in

It’s a bit of a "detective vs. thief" loop. ACRCloud’s neural networks are trained on the specific acoustic artifacts and spectral fingerprints left behind by AI models.

  • The "Watermark" Myth: It’s not just about hidden digital watermarks. ACRCloud looks at things like tonal coherence and harmonic patterns unique to Suno’s synthesis engine.
  • Attribution: Their system can actually distinguish between Suno, Udio, ElevenLabs, and Mureka. If you generated a vocal in Suno and mixed it into your track, ACRCloud’s "Component Breakdown" can often see the AI in the vocal stem even if the instrumental is human-made.

Tutorial: How to check your own songs (Free Trial)

If you're worried about your hybrid tracks getting flagged, you can actually use the same tool the big guys use. ACRCloud offers a 14-day free trial that gives you access to their dashboard.

  1. Sign Up: Go toACRCloud’s Console and register for a free account.
  2. Create a Project: In the dashboard, go to "File Scanning" or "Recognition" and create a new project.
  3. Enable AI Detection: When setting up your "Container" or "Bucket," look for the "AI Music Detection" toggle. Make sure this is checked.
  4. Upload & Scan: Drop your WAV or MP3 into the container.
  5. Interpret the Results:
    • AI Probability Score: 0-100%. If you're over 50%, the system flags it as "AI-generated."
    • Confidence levels: If your score is between 40% and 70%, it’s in the "grey zone" meaning a human reviewer at a distributor might take a closer look.

Why should hybrid producers care?

If you’re using AI for inspiration (like generating a melody and then re-playing it on a real synth), you’re usually safe because the acoustic fingerprint changes. However, if you're using AI-generated audio directly in your mix, it’s worth "pre-checking" your master to see if you're triggering these detectors before you send it to your distributor.

Anyone else tried scanning their "hybrid" projects yet? Curious to see what the false-positive rate is for heavily processed human vocals.

Note: This isn't a sponsored post—just keeping the community informed on the tech that's currently gatekeeping our distribution channels!

Well well well, been awhile!

Hope everyone is doing well, my o my aren't't things changing quickly in the AI music space? The hybrid ideology is catching on, it has to. Now I just look at the anti ai people and think "what are you doing?" More for us I guess.

Have been having some health related family stuff which pulled me away, as well as a new business venture trustnodelogic.com , but also have been really paying attention to the evolving landscape we are in.

In the upcoming days I'll be making some posts, particularly about future proofing your work, and setting a standard for what % constitutes hybrid, and setting a precedent so platforms can no longer just put you in the AI prompter box.

But in the meantime, check out my portfolio page, especially the projects tab, I have a browser 4 osc subtractive synth, in browser basic daw, reactive fractal visualizer for music, and some other tools to play around with.

Are there any programs that can take my actual voice and make me sound like a better singer? While keeping my “voice” the same?

I’ve been looking around for ai that can make my singing voice much better.

What I seem to get is AI that takes my singing voice and merges it with someone similar to make me sound better.

In the end, it doesn’t necessarily sound like me.

Is there anything that changes your singing voice really well, while keeping your singing voice the same?

Are there any ["OFFLINE"] programs which allow AI manipulation/experimentation with original compositions?

Throwaway account--I apologize for obscure wording and a question that's probably pretty obvious to your community, but that's why I come to you:

My father is a composer and has begun working to translate his acoustic ideas/arrangements into elec. audio before he passes.

HERE IS THE MAIN ISSUE--
I know there are programs for anything imaginable, and I was getting ready to do the research and just try myself, BUT - My father is extremely (overly, imo, at this stage) protective of his IP, he doesn't want to use any programs which, in his words, "are online."

So he wants insanely powerful AI, in a program one can use completely offline (once dled to the computer obviously), so none of his compositions or ideas could be filtered through anything online.

Does this make sense? Please reply or feel free to DM at this account if anyone has any ideas or wisdom to share; thank you so much for your time!

**I apologize again for the length and if this is very obvious, but I want to help him and I'm so unfamiliar. It's been a decade or so since I left tech & rec. in undergrad, and AI it a new world exponentially faster each moment. I'm drowning out here trying to begin even researching.)

Anything goes as long as you get to generate without checks balances & restrictions.

google source This could have been prevented as it was forecasted decades ago.

The Artist Prince had conflicts with his label in the 90s because he wanted to release so much content that could not be promoted digested in a short period. Oversaturation was also prevalent in mix tape scenes & culture. Buckethead also released over a hundred of albums in a year several times.

The most prolific example is from Matt Farley who figured out a way to game the platforms over 20 years ago He was a musician who would create & publish ten songs per day. Each upload earns a fraction of income per year but accumulates when you have over 18 000 songs in the ecosystem.

Generative audio is not new. This is a ten year old video of jukedeck Sample / sound effect libraries should have potentially been disrupted but the developers would have to interact with musicians. They created their own ecosystem on discord or reddit which attracted the nave & gullible who were learning bad habits & think they have superpowers.

However many are also being exploited as they don't have any artistic creative background , self restraint or investments in their hobbies to know any better.

The streaming platforms could have had safeguards etc in place decades ago where you must disclose & credit vocalists singers etc. But that would also effect them. They are not even listening to the generations.. As the process can be automated via scripts & API.

There is also distinction between what is generated & what is published , worthy of publishing or consumable.

Badly generated mixed , recorded or over compressed audio can be difficult or fatiguing to evaluate. The content can emit piercing & annoying frequencies , instruments can have poor or flat dynamic range. Albums also need to be mixed & mastered so all the tracks are tonally consistent.

Genuine mastering engineers with specialist tools & monitoring rooms , ears & experience can correct many of these issues. This can not be automated or replaced by machine. Someone subscribing at the lowest tier who has no investment in their Artistry hobbies etc Is unlikely to pay professional rates for mastering which diminishes & devalues the medium & occupations.

I spent a good week working on like half a track. Decided I was kinda over it and sent it to suno

I instantly felt like my version was made by a special needs kid, lol. I mean, I know I'm not great at making music, but damn, suno just made me it's bitch.

My song:

And here's suno making me feel like maybe I took one too many knocks to the head back in the day:

what are people using for AI mixing?

hey all, curious about how people are doing the mixing side of production with AI past just creating songs or generating stems.

i made a tool for this that's pretty good at it but curious if there's anything else worth looking at?

edit: tool is sonura

Master List of AI Music Production Tools

I'm putting together a repository of tools that use AI or machine learning to help produce music, but are NOT AI song generators (think Suno, Udio, etc.). Examples:

Mastering: Landr, Ozone

Sounds: Neutone Morpho, Ace Studio, Kits AI

Stem Separation: Moises, LALAL, Fadr

MIDI: Magenta, Staccato, Lemonaide

Singing: Controlla Voice, Audimee

What am I missing? Would love to know what everyone here is using that fits this criteria!

Which one is better between Controlla Voice and Audimee?

Hi everyone,

I’m currently looking for the best way to isolate stems from Suno-generated songs so I can replace the vocals using voice cloning (with another artist’s voice). I’d like to know, between Controlla Voice and Audimee:

-Which one gives the most natural and human-sounding vocals (without the robotic artifacts you often hear)?

-Which one handles vocal cleaning and isolation the best, so you get a clean vocal track before conversion?

Also, outside of these two platforms, do you know any other tools that might work better for this kind of workflow? Thanks a lot!

Are there any solutions for isolating, cloning, and modifying voices on Suno?

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place to ask. I am currently looking for solutions to modify the voice of a music track on Suno, in order to replace it with a clone of another voice. I’ve tried using the "personas", but it doesn’t seem to work as expected. So, I’m wondering if there is any third-party software, paid or free, that could help me do this.

Here’s the context: I already have a vocal cloning website, Replay (which works well, but I think I can find better), but my main problem is obtaining a clean, clear vocal track. The stems from Suno are not very effective: they don’t separate the lead vocals from background voices, harmonies and often leave noise, echoes, or reverb effects. As a result, when I try to do vocal cloning, the results are not natural, they tend to sound robotic or have bugs.

So, I’m asking if there is an effective way to perfectly isolate vocals within Suno, other than the built-in stem separation tool. I’ve also tried external tools like UVR, but the results are roughly similar: I can’t fully clean the vocal track to make it sound natural. Are there methods or software that can produce as clean a vocal track as possible without altering the song?

Furthermore, if perfect extraction isn’t possible, are there AI-based sites or programs that can recreate a full acapella version based on the original vocal track, while maintaining the same melody? (For example, I could upload the vocal track from Suno to another platform that would generate a more stable version). Ideally, with the option to provide lyrics so that the AI can enunciate each word clearly and make further editing easier.

(Finally, I’m also interested in AI solutions capable of cloning a voice to insert into another vocal track, capturing the timbre, accent, or other vocal characteristics. Are there any effective software or tools that can do this with good fidelity to the original voice?)

Thanks in advance for your advice and recommendations guys!

Looking for potential collabs

If anyone here wants to donate something to my DAW, leave a comment with a link. If heavy guitar is not your thing, this is definitely not for you.

I'm primarily looking for people with darkpop/heavy rock (or metalcore) crossovers that fancy a lick of unhinged paint. However, if my brain thinks it slaps, I'll probably be into it

Example - https://soundcloud.com/synkretik/mr-stihl

A DnB/melodic-metalcore crossover about a man's love for his chainsaw.

1 way I use Suno to produce

Firstly, my music touches on current events, so, if that’s not for you, please move on to a different post.

This process video shows how I took the acapella vocal track from a previously unreleased track, “You Freeze”: https://youtu.be/ypF\_EDZ9y\_M?si=wNTxTfvGtmcWmQUf

produced by Mucada Beatz: https://youtube.com/@mucadabeatz?si=syFKZH-g6E8sUAe0

and used Suno, GarageBand, and ADHD to produce the track “Done Playing Nice”: https://youtu.be/6ftwmhayauM?si=lOf1UwiD3zfo6-eJ

It was a long convoluted 3 or 4 day process which I’ve condensed to about 40 minutes for this video.

What do you do (other than prompting), to create your tracks?
