My local Range is selling these. Firstly - why would anyone buy these and secondly, why do it? Surely this can’t be good for the plant and it looks tacky af.

I started with a Jade Pothos given to me by my mom when I was 20. This is my collection 17 years later. So thankful to my mom for getting me started on a lasting and rewarding hobby. 💚🌿

So far I’ve only collected philodendron, monstera and alocasias but recently I got 2 anthuriums - Clarinervium and Warocqueanum (Queen).Totally new area for me so any tips on them would be much appreciated! The Black Velvet Aurea is my newest purchase and is now my top 3 plant! What else can you spot?

Hiya! My Florida ghost is really starting to take up space. It’s thriving, but I’ve noticed that as it gets bigger, the gaps between the new leaves are growing longer for some reason. He’s definitely getting enough light, and I’m unsure whether I should just chop him, so I can start propagating from a more advanced stage. I’ve got a really good rooting system in the moss pole, so I don’t think propagation will be an issue. I just don’t know. He’s one of my favourite plants, so any advice or guidance would be really appreciated.

Can it keep climbing along the under-stair slope or do I need to chop?

Not sure if the sloped ceiling will prevent new petioles unfurling but I’m reluctant to chop!

Got thrips on my Philodendron Brasil and may have quarantined it (after treating it with insecticide) a bit too long to the point of all the leaves dropping... anyway I love this plant so wanted to see if I could save it.. I chopped the crispy ends off, I did re pot in to better chunky soil and even a slightly smaller pot as it was still in the original mix from when I got it..

It's been in the window and has had some slow new growth. Am I right in thinking it will be slow due to no leaves? I'm not sure if I could chop a little to propagate, would that help the original individual vines grow a little faster? I'm happy to leave as is if it means its best for the plant! Thanks in advance!

Hi all. Please can you help. I noticed this tiny white bugs all over my plant. Please can you let me know if these are bad news and if there’s anything I can do to get rid of them? If they’re not a problem to the plant I’m happy to leave them

Bought this plant when I first moved into my flat nearly two years ago. It came in a £15 sustainability box with two other plants and had about two leaves holding on for dear life. I had no idea what it was at the time but thanks to Reddit, I now know she’s a Philodendron Jose Buono.

She somehow survived neglect and overwatering until I stated learning about proper plant care. Two years on and she’s thriving. She’s getting more light now too, so hopefully even more variegation to come!

B&Q haul

The range of plants b&q have in recently is insane my eyes lit up so brightly when I saw that monstera minima and pothos marble queen

Some of these babies I did save from the reduced section and I can’t wait to nurse them back into health

I was inspecting my aloe after a little while of neglect and noticed it was loose from the soil, I pulled it loose with ease and looked for root rot (even though the soil was close to bone dry) and I spotted these pale pink bugs on the root. I binned the soil and rinsed the root section removing most of the roots, does the root look healthy to regrow??

Thanks in advance

This is kept in a south facing bathroom but is clearly unhappy. It is not growing either. Any tips for what I’m doing wrong?

Hi!

New poster here.

Can anyone advise what’s happening to my monstera leaf? I’ve just had three new leaves, plenty of air roots and generally well. I’ve just noticed this on one of my leaves

Hey there - my friend handed off this orchid to me after removing it from its gift pot (zero drainage or airflow) and cutting off roots that were mushy. She said some of them were black and others were yellow.

She cut them without much of a plan, so I don't know if these are now damaged or if there's something more to do?

Right now I'm keeping it out of any medium and just hoping to give it some air until I know what's next.

Thank you!

Hey all, I have just repotted the rubber plant and I wonder if it needs more soil ?

Idk why the pearlite has made its way up even though I swear I mixed it through the main mix

*** EDIT : sorry autocorrect has got the best of me ; title is meant to say 'repotted.' Hilarious

Hey plant gang.

My aunt has just had a massive operation and is recovering at home and a bit miserable. I wanted to send a nice little gift (I have some other gifts planned like fancy PJ's etc.), she's not a fan of cut flowers, and I thought a houseplant might be a nice idea.

I know she likes plants (indoors and outdoors), she's always telling me about her avocado plants she's growing etc.

I thought maybe some unusual or exotic plant she might not think to buy for herself? She is in London and lives in a basement flat so there's not huge amounts of light indoors (apart from the kitchen if I recall correctly).

Thank you!!
