Seat lock release seized or cable stretched?

Hello all - I went to fill up and at the gas station and my CT’s seat lock cylinder would turn (I could/still hear a minor mechanical sound under the seat) but the seat would not let go as it normally would.

Of note I had previously unlocked the seat and lifted it a few days prior to this

The googAi told me to “apply weight to the seat” and “jiggle seat”.

This made sense so I gently tried both but seat is solidly connected.

Has this happened to anyone?

At this point I have a couple bars left on my fuel gauge so I may just ride it a bit more to see if anything simply loosens.

I understand I may have to take the plastic fairings off but I am hoping to avoid it if anyone has a trick.

Pic cuz I love this little bike!!!

Thanks for any advice!

Last week I bought a trade in yellow CT125 with 172 miles, I was talking to the service manager at the dealership I work at, told him I bought a trail. He was all, "you should have bought mine, I don't ride it, I would have sold it to you cheap."

Well I was looking to pick up another for the GF to learn on anyways.😅

Only 53 miles, but it's filthy, it's spent the majority of its life hanging out on the back of an RV.

Second annual ride up to the snow on Mt. Adams. The snow pictures are at about 5000 - 5500 feet. The bike handled great on the unimproved mountain roads.

The dealership I work for had someone trade in a yellow CT125 with 172 miles towards a Honda 230. I put my name on it before the previous owner had left the parking lot.

Shifting took a second to get used to, but I've come to accept the heel/toe shifter after initially wanting to go with a conventional toe shifter. Apparently Honda engineers know what they're doing/s

I have 2 other bikes but this is my top pick for around town errands. I'm actually thinking of picking up another for my gf.

My CT125 is doing a thing in 3rd gear when i get is passed about 2/3 throttle where it kind of winds out the RPMs quickly almost like it's halfway engaging the clutch. It's not doing this every single time, but definitely most of the time. I kind of have to ease the throttle in to get it near wide open when this happens. It's a bit annoying. Does anyone know what this could be?

Had my throttle cable snap I just replaced it however when I start the bike up its immediately full throttle even when the cable is loose. Any ideas on what I mightve done wrong? I had to choke it out to shut it off and now I dont know what to do different when I start it again

So far like $2k into this project including buying the bike lol.

I'm about 75% done I need to finish the electric, put foot pegs on, properly mount wires and the fuel petcock, and adjust the exhaust so my back passenger's foot doesn't get hurt.

Great project so far. I've always been a car guy but widened my horizon to bikes. Love it so far

Hi all, working on doing a cheap lifan swap on my ct90, got the motor the other day and was looking it over and this exhaust flange has me confused, is it supposed to look like this??? Why isn't it flat??? Maybe this is a dumb question but I've never seen this before, any advice is appreciated

Thanks 👍
