I'm buying a 5x10 Hiker Trailer with the bunk beds and trying to decide between the Highway Deluxe and Mid Range model.

Towing with a Honda Odyssey (3500lb tow capacity) and/or Acura MDX (5000lb tow capacity)

I don't need the overlanding heavy duty features. I'll mostly be camping at state/national parks or land our friends own.

With 2 adults & 4 kids, do I need to bump up to the Mid Range for weight capacity or a smoother ride for long distances?
Are there any other reasons I should consider the Mid Range over the Highway Deluxe?

I've looked at lots of other brands and don't see anything else that is a good fit for us in the smaller teardrop size range.

Highway Deluxe
G.V.W.R – 1,900lbs
Short leaf-spring suspension

Mid Range
G.V.W.R – 2,900lbs
3,500lb Torsion Axle

Looking for any thoughts / insight / wondering if we’re getting ripped off at camping world.

1- back tail light needing replaced , quoted 99$ for labor and 32 dollars for part

2 - max fan (green light of death, was wondering if we needed a new motherboard) they are saying 400 plus labor for a whole new fan

3- bearings packed

A total of 1200 $ of parts / service

Any thoughts on this? Happy to pay if that’s what typical prices are, but seems like a lot for the services we are having done.
