Spent the last few days crafting the intro cinematic for the Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure I'm developing solo. Trying to nail that adventurous, Indiana Jones‑like atmosphere, what do you guys think?

Help finding a game

Edit:
SOLVED!

The game was Abandoned Chestnut Lodge Asylum. Thank you so much for the help! The fact with even such little memory someone suggested as an option you are amazing and thank you so much!!!!

I don’t know if anyone will be able to help me because I don’t have clear memories of this game. It was a Big Fish horror hidden object. The thing is I just remember it had a really scary either cutscene or jump scare and I think it had to do with a mental asylum or something like it? I vaguely remember a hidden object scene with a trunk of a car but that’s most games. It would have probably come out before 2015 because I remember showing it to my friends when we were in middle school to highschool… I really wish I remembered more about it or had the laptop where I recorded the jumpscare because I loved it so much

If you had five objects what would you put in a hidden object survival kit?

We all like to play bingo with the hidden object games so what five objects do you think a protagonist with a tendency to end up in situations™️ like master detective should have?

I’m thinking a lighter should be one of them and maybe a good pair of gloves. 🧤

Help me to find my fav childhood game

I remember playing this game on PC (Windows) back in 2011. I'm not sure if it was from BigFish. It was about a haunted? mainson, it had a normal (daytime) and a ghost (nighttime) side, and you could switch between them. Throughout the game, you had to find a way to kill the monster/vampire that appeared at the end

Demo coming soon

Hello! We are a tiny indie studio working on Totally Nutz: An 80s Adventure. It’s a cozy, hidden-object puzzle adventure that takes place in the 80s and is inspired by the hand-drawn charm of The Tiny Bang Story and Machinarium.

If this is your kind of thing, wishlist on Steam.

When did the style of the dark tales Edgar Allan Poe game start changing

I’m just curious because I love the old style of one and two and I been playing then lately. 3 is not bad to be honest. It not my favorite but it fine. I’m trying to find them in that style from one and two because the recent one for that series just feel so different and don’t have the charm that one and two have

Finished playing Lost Lands: The Four Horsemen

It was really great eleven years later of the cutscenes having the greatest shading of 3D Animation at that time along with numerous puzzles to solve and stoping the four horsemen!!

Looking for in-browser game similar to Hidden Through Time/Hidden People

Basically what the title says.

Things I love about Hidden Through Time/Hidden People:

  • clue based finding
  • Not photographic style
  • Can click to open things/look inside things
  • No timer
  • not competitive
  • Ability to zoom in
  • Story lines/themes

THINGS I DO NOT WANT:

  • overcluttered scenes, a la Find It! or Lost Objects
  • brainless searching without any logic
  • photographic style like those Mansion Murder Mystery type things

Wanted to highlight this 2026 Steam remaster of a 2009 hidden object game! (Little Things)

Not my game at all, but just wanted to share this in case this is someone else's cup of tea.

Some of you may remember that Little Things first released on Big Fish Games all the way back in 2009. It was then ported to and remains on the App Store and Google Play. There's also a 2013 sequel called Little Things Forever also on the App Store and Google Play.

As very recently as early April this year, the developer has decided to release a remastered version of Little Things. It is available as a a new release on Steam (just the first game) and an update to the mobile versions and the Itch.io version (includes the second game that's also remastered).

Check it out if you're interested!

Brody Lamonte and Cathy Turino through the years (2010-2017)

The first game was released in 2010 and was quite successful. It brought G5‘s attention, and later G5 Entertainment collaborated with Floodlight Games, and the sequel, Engaged to Kill, was released under G5’s publishing. After that, the series went silent.

In 2016, G5 released a new game, S.E.D.: Special Enquiry Detail. There is not much information about this game, except that it was only available on mobile devices. It tried very hard to be like Criminal Case. It failed, but G5 wasn't going to give up.

In 2017, S.E.D. was rebranded as Homicide Squad, and this time the game was successful. It's still active today and receives new events and cases. In 2020, a spin-off called Crime Mysteries was released. This game features a whole different team, and instead of taking place in New York, it takes place in L.A.

Looking for an Old Game

Hey y’all. I’m looking for this old hidden object game that I used to play. It has your character going through scenes to like stop a witch from performing some sort of ritual. Along the way, you run into a large scarecrow that initially tries to stop you, but it turns out he’s a farmer or something that got cursed by the witch. He becomes friendly and tries to help. You also get his son, a tiny scarecrow, as a companion. He can go into small places and has different costumes for different tasks. That’s all I really remember and searching for it just sent me to The Scarecrow Ritual which definitely isn’t it.

Trying to find a specific game

I remember playing a demo of this game where you start in a car, driving down a road to an old town, and you pull up a photo of your daughter before staring at her teddy bear in the back seat. You go to a town, and the whole place has been abandoned. I remember having to walk down a pathway at some point, smash a window in, and then using gloves to clean off the glass to hop inside the house. There was an old woman too who gave vague answers, but at the end of the demo, when you go get the thing she asked for, she is found as a skeleton dead in her chair, and when you pick up the photo in her lap, the demo ends.

This game freaked me out as a kid, so much so, that I still remember it to this day, and If anyone can help me find the name, I'd appreciate it. I played it on an iPad if that helps, but anyways, thank you for reading.

A challenging 3D HOPA game where hidden objects are used and puzzles rely on observation rather than logic

Hey everyone, Ready-Player-Go! is a 3D Hidden Object Puzzle Adventure treasure hunt set in an abandoned city and its surrounding areas. There are no enemies, no combat just you, your memory, and your visual skills.

You explore by paying attention to details and remembering locations, not by following quest markers. If you see something interesting, you'll need to mentally bookmark it and figure out how to get back there later.

The hidden object side of the game works like this: for example, to use vehicles, you need to find their keys, and sometimes other parts like tyres or a battery. These are things you discover as you explore and pay attention to clues and hints.

Some of the core features:

  • Hidden object style gameplay in a full 3D world
  • Open ended exploration (no map markers or guidance)
  • Environmental puzzles involving routes, blocked paths, and connections
  • Multiple vehicles to find and unlock in order to reach new areas
  • Progression based entirely on observation and memory

It's meant to be slow, a bit challenging, and somewhat meditative if you enjoy really looking at the world instead of being guided through it.

If you like HOPA games with a twist where you notice small details, remember locations, and figure things out on your own this might click with you.

Happy to answer questions or hear feedback, especially from people who enjoy these types of games.

If you're interested, you can check it out on Steam
