Recommendations

Hi all! I am on book 10, and I cannot believe how addicted I am to this series. I’ve been listening on audiobook, and I realize that the author has flaws (Jason always waxes poetic how bad he is with no end and the author is fairly repetitive). But those are acceptable flaws and im still loving the series so much. This is my first lit RPG. Are there any series that you guys can recommend that I go onto next?

Jason’s lemonade

Item:[Jason‘s lemonade] (normal rank, common)

A delicious citrus drink (consumable, beverage)

• Effect: Refreshing.

crafting requirements;

Materials:

• 6 lemons

• 1 and 1/4 cup of sugar

• 5 cups of water

Amount of sugar and lemon juice can be adjusted, if you like it extra sweet or with a bit of twang to it.

Tools:

• Mixing bowl.

• cooking pot.

• Mesh strainer.

• lemon/vegetable peeler.

• lemon juicer(optional)

• serving pitcher

Steps:

  1. Wash lemons. If they feel waxy, scrub them under hot water.

  2. Peel the zest from six lemons with a veggie peeler. You want the yellow zest, but do not be too worried about getting some of the white. Set the peeled lemons aside.

  3. Cover the lemon zest with 1 and** a **quarter cups of sugar in a mixing bowl and combined by tossing. Cover with some cling wrap and leave for at least two hours, but longer is better. Leaving them overnight works very nicely.

  4. Bring 5 cups of water** **to the boil, in a pot on high heat. turn off the heat and pour in the lemon sugar mix.

  5. Bring water to a boil in a pot over high heat turn off heat and add the lemon sugar mix, including the peel. Stir, then leave as the sugars dissolve, which should take about five minutes.

  6. Strain liquid back into the mixing bowl through a mesh strainer to excise the peel.

  7. Do not add the lemon juice immediately. Let the liquid sit until room temperature; about half an hour should do.

  8. Cut the lemons in half and squeeze into the bowl through the mess strainer. Poor lemonade into a serving pitcher, cover in cling wrap, in refrigerate until nice and chilly.

  9. Pouring the lemonade over ice without chilling it first will melt the ice and water it down, so get it nice and cold. I recommend a couple of hours. Then pour over some ice and prepare to get seriously quenched.

I've been working to make a custom TTRPG based on He who fights with monsters for my mates

In the past couple weeks, I've been working on a custom TTRPG for my mates that I'll DM, I've been basing it off the first couple books(only up to book 10, No spoilers) and I've been using the wiki for most of the information on essences and abilities while supplementing my own knowledge for parts like the health, attributes and ranks based on how I remember it being described.

Descriptions haven't been put in for all the abilities but it's definitely on my list of things to do as well as descriptions of all the stats, currently I've been randomly assigning essences to the attributes as well as making up racial gifts on the fly while using colour coding to connect stat increases to the different abilities. There is an affliction tab(though incomplete) and magical specialties will also be done soon, but I would like to request feedback.

Have I made everything faithful to the series or have I misremembered certain things, is there certain QOL that I should add that'll make creating the character easier. That kind of stuff

Here's the link to the google doc: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1b-kBDo5egbzsDfdc-4AgnRzai8GhcZaBCDqKcam3AHM/edit?tab=t.91nvilgl9veo#heading=h.rhmnd3wwiss9

Found Jason's long lost fictional brother

So I've been listening to heretical fishing by Heylock Jabson it's reminded me so much of reading He is who fights with monsters for the first time! I don't know whether it's because they have the same narrator or the characters are just so similar, but Fisher is Jason's more adjusted long lost brother. He has a similar sense of humor, puts importance on loyalty and friendship, and loves to cook. I can see Fisher and Jason totally chilling on Jason's cloud boat fishing and cracking jokes. Meanwhile, they're friends all share war stories of their shenanigans dealing with both of them.

So this is my call into void for Shirtaloon and Haylock Jobson to co- write a cross over story with them both.

Question: What are the long range communicators in HWFWM called?

Like the title says, what are the long range communicators in HWFWM called?

I recall them being called communication chambers, or channels but I also thought they were also referred to as "water {something}" but can't remember or find it when going through the books.
