Update!

https://x.com/HardwooodEmpire/status/2052541435409555955?s=20

Hello everybody, I just posted an update on the Twitter for 3.1. I wanted to say thank you to all of you guys who have been playing the game. I know I haven't been able to respond to all of you on the Reddit as I've just been focused on finals and fixing bugs from the Discord, but I wanted to let you know that all your voices are heard.

I just got finished with my school year, so I'll be able to put more time into this app and the other things I have planned. I have some really cool things planned and a lot of resources that have been opened up to me now that I'm excited to take advantage of thanks to you guys.

Anyways, I just wanted to thank you guys all again for your patience and for playing through all the bumps in this game that I've been working very hard to fix .I just want to make a game that you all enjoy!

- Conference Tournament games don’t count towards bracketology when they should

- 7 ft “freak” point guards?? What are we doing here..

- could be just my game, but always 1s and 2 seeds in March madness final four and very very few tournament upsets

- also a couple times my season restarted but saved my recruiting class? Saved my recruits which is awesome but had to replay the entire season

Hello!!! I’m so excited for this day to be here.

I am a solo dev who decided to make a college hockey GM game called PuckBunny GM! I’ve wanted games like this in underserved sports like hockey for a long time. I’ve made some previously but never been able to make it for a real app for a real audience until now with the assistance of AI.

This app is still very early in beta, but version 3 (3) is out and I believe it to be relatively bug free. That being said, I am nowhere done improving this game, and already have a substantial amount in private since this public release version. That being said, I believe the app has reached a point where it is both fun to play and good for public testing so yall can get some early fun out of this that I myself have already been having, as well as provide feedback to me on what you’d prefer to see in the game and changes you’d like to see happen.

As for this, I have made a subreddit r/PuckBunnyGM, and a discord that is linked in the about page of the app. Both of these I will monitor when I can. I am a full time Mechanical Engineer during the days and this is a passion project of mine that I hope to share and provide some fun for as many people as I can.

If you wish to join the public beta, please click the link below! Right now it is only open for 75 people. I have no idea how much or little that is right now for a game I expect to be niche, but all 75 immediately fill, I will be sure to extend it! If not, it’ll depend on the feedback I’m getting and I’ll gauge it from there.

Thank you all and please enjoy!

Idk what these last few updates have done but the features added do not make up for the unplayable bugs. Game needs a hard reset. Simming is broken. Game replay doesn’t take affect until half way through the off season. Hard to recruit when you sim through a period and your record remains the same. Too many bugs to list it’s like you dumped the code into Claude and it just scrambled its brains. Back to campus dynasty for me. This game is just to unreliable

We’re aware of the current bugs and issues being reported. There’s no need to keep flooding the subreddit with the same ones we see them and they’re being worked on.

We understand how frustrating it is, especially when it affects gameplay like simming, recruiting, and progression. Fixes are coming.

Appreciate everyone’s patience while we get things stable.

3.1 Update

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know I uploaded the 3.1 update on Thursday night, so it's just taking a while on Apple for some reason. Every bug you guys put in here has been fixed for 3.1. Every game-breaking bug has addressed. There are still some little things I want to get to, but I don't want to hold this update out until I got those done. The quality of life will definitely improve in 3.1!

Also, I just wanted to keep you guys in the loop. I've spent the last 48 hours reorganizing the entire code into more separate modules to better assist me with the bug process. I've also have had time to try out some new things I've been learning and take some advice from people who have reached out in the field. The update should be out tomorrow. Today, just with everything I've done with the app, it's given me a whole new level of excitement and confidence! Thank you for all that you have been sticking through everything.

My game is basically unplayable because it constantly crashes which sucks because it’s fun when it doesn’t crash. Is this a storage issue or possibly due to my phone being behind on software updates?

Started a new season a couple seasons into my save and had 3 transfers come in. I edit the lineup a little when I hit save all of the transfers left. Then I only had 7 player on my teams and didn’t have any of the players I got in the portal.

Redshirt players are turned into seniors for their final year after only playing for a year. Already posted about this but I genuinely can’t play without this happening and it ruins the game.

Hi everyone,

Have loved Hardwood Empire thus far, but wanted to try out a football sim for a bit. Looks like there are a number of college football simulators, which one has been the most fun/realistic?

I can’t seem to get out of the transfer portal during the offseason. I’ve closed app and restarted the game and it hasn’t worked and I really don’t want to start over either. So hopefully this can be fixed

Games nearly unplayable cause of bugs. Tried skipping through the season and It skipped through 27/30 games, then after I played the 28th game I went from 27-0 to 25-0.

The budget is never correct and i always have some sort of bug with the amount i’ve used.

all time record is incorrect

You know how in NCAA Basketball 10 if your team performs bad enough for a couple of years then you get devoted to a lower league? Does this game already have that? If not that would be a good feature to add in order to keep the challenge going.

posted about it yesterday, but i just had 3 different players w/ a 90+ percent to commit chose another school w/ a 2 percent or less chance to commit. now i dont want this to come off as complaining about recruiting, but ive had this happen to over a dozen recruits the last 3 simmed seasons. I’ve also been having recruits I’ve never pursued commit to my team- is recruiting being fixed in the update?

I think there’s a bug during the offseason, I will go through the transfers, then it’ll give me the chance to redshirt. Once I advance to the next step (offseason training) I get the pop up of the breakout player and then it’ll skip training and go directly to the schedule and I can’t go back to training.

Also another bug in recruiting. I get random 2 star commits that I never offered or looked at and they don’t show up on my targets. So I don’t know anything about them but they’re suddenly on my roster.

Reclass recruits:
This would be more of just kind of a niche feature. But every April-June there will be at least one 5 star junior prospect that will suddenly become available as a “reclass.”

Think this would be a cool feature to have if we have an unexpected departure in the offseason, it could just be something to add to the transfer portal cycle.
