Calico but different

Calico but different

Has anyone ever seen calico hair but in these colors? (Red black and brown instead of blonde orange and black) I want to dye my hair this way but can’t find any references so I drew it myself over a picture from Pinterest.
If anyone has a picture of hair like this I’d love to see!

Before (bright pink) and after (bronde/dirty blonde)

I used color oops to get from neon pink (pink warrior manic panic pink) to muted pink but always do a test strand. Some pinks turn blue with color oops! I use manic panic pink warrior and manic panic hot hot pink and it worked fine on those. Then I used Wella T14 with 10vol developer for the full processing time (I think it was 20 or 30 minutes but just read the package.) My hair was very brassy orange under the pink because I was dark red previously. Then I used the bond bar repair conditioning mask. I love pink. I miss pink. But sadly just didn’t feel that bright pink was “me”. I felt like I had to wear lots of makeup because it didn’t really go with my skin that well. The muted pink was kinda pretty but very patchy. I might try a more muted pink again in the future. Or maybe just do a peekaboo/highlights with pink instead of the full head. Hope this helps someone!

what to do with what feels like boring hair

hi everyone! i’ve been dying my hair neons and pastels for about 8 or so years. this year i decided that it was definitely breaching on becoming way to damaging and tedious to upkeep so i dyed it back to its natural color. i am a person that consistently had bright blue, green, purple, pink, whatever hair, and now im starting to feel bored. i was really drawn to megan from katseye’s hair (last two slides) and wanted some opinions about if that would look cool, and if not, what would make my hair feel a little less boring? i like her hair a lot because it reminds me of light coming through a window and feels edgy but subtle (and i wouldn’t have to bleach my whole head). thank you!!

Coworker gave me the best oil slick hair I've ever seen

My coworker finally got his cosmetology degree (woo!) and I wanted to support him by getting my hair dyed for the first time. Spent about five hours total in the salon and it came out perfect. Can't wait to style this with some alternative fits!

Before is with the bleached highlights added in, after is the final look.

Bleach again or skip to toner?

I have been bleaching my hair for awhile but have naturally dark brown hair. I bleached my hair 2 days ago (only my roots and the regrowth) using powder bleach and a 20 developer ratio 1:1. My hair still has some dark yellow spots (i used purple shampoo after my bleach). I sectioned my hair off into 4 sections so two on each side and bleached my top half first and then my bottom half which is why i think underneath is so yellow bc I didnt let it sit long enough(my hair was so hot, i didnt want it to break off) also I always put a trash bag on over my hair once im done bleaching it until its time to rinse. ill add pictures in. Should I rebleach with my 20 developer using ratio 1:2 or developer 10 1:1 or skip to toner. Ill add all photos. Thanks!

What would my hair look like if I used Sun-in to achieve highlights?

Just bought some but I’m a little intimidated by it lol. I don’t want to cover my whole head, just highlights, but I’m not sure how the color would pull with my hair color.

Which style should I choose first to minimize damage? I want to eventually do both!

This will be my first time ever dyeing my hair!!

I naturally have dark brown, nearly black hair and keep it at bob length. I'd love to try a steely grey ombre and an oil slick effect (not at the same time) but would like to know which order to do them in to minimize damage, or make the process easier for the second style. Thanks in advance 💚💚

PSA: Do not use acidic bonding shampoo in a bleach bath

This hopefully is glaringly obvious for most people here but it was not obvious to lil ole me so I am spreading the horrifying lesson I just learned. When they say "just use any shampoo you have on hand" for a bleach bath, DO NOT use acidic bonding shampoo! The acidic nature of the shampoo mixed with the alkaline developer will cause an exothermic reaction and if it gets to your scalp, you're cooked. Literally.

I have 2nd degree burns all over my scalp from 10 minutes of contact.

I heard bubbles and blisters forming under the top layers of my scalp and could hear them snap crackle and popping as they formed, like rice krispies in milk.

I confirmed that I do not have crepitus or subcutaneous emphysema but those are urgent care or ER level injuries. I am watching closely at home to make sure these don't become infected or get worse.

If this level of burns happen to you, immediately rinse your scalp under cool (not cold, not warm) water for 10-20 minutes on each of the burns sites. This will rinse off remaining product and it will cool down the dermis layers of your skin so the burn doesn't continue to spread. Do not scrub the scalp or apply ANY product and gently towel dry the ends only. Seek medical evaluation as soon as feasible. This 20 minutes of rinsing my scalp saved me. I did this all at midnight so the only doctor available was the ER. Rinsing helped the burn to stop crackling and popping and I was able to at least get some sleep and wait to be evaluated at an urgent care.

The acidic bonding shampoo has a warning about exothermic reactions causing more severe sunburns in **sunlight** but nothing about bleach. It's basic chemistry, but I wasn't thinking and didn't see an explicit warning about it. and all the bleach bath tutorials say explicitly that you can use "any shampoo you have." That is simply not true. Don't be me.

OH. and because the reaction caused so much heat, the first 3 inches of my hair are now platinum from a level 7. The rest of my hair is the tone I needed and wanted. And I'm too burned to even consider color correcting right now.

Good Dye Young released a pink shade called Baddie which I love but I live in France so I can't order it ☹️
Any recommendations for a similar shade I could use instead ?

Highlights

How realistic is this look? What base would I have to start with? Would it be a red and then add in the blonde? Or would it be easier to have a base of all blonde and then work from there? My hair rn is a light red. Ik highlights are not easy and I’ve never down them before, I have done a bunch of stuff with my hair but nothing as tedious as highlights.

Any advice would be appreciated, thank you!

First time ever doing a vivid/fashion color!

Used the big pink by bleach London. It’s sooo pink & I’m excited to watch it fade! Last pic was my starting base. It went over top beautifully.
