Just got the goggles 2, they are amazing.

so I’m a noob to this hobby so far, and I was looking for a great goggle to start with, one that has support for multiple systems and had low latency. Then I came across this goggle. They are really good so far, worth the money. First piece of hdzero equipment. I’m going to use them for simulators. One issue is that my hair is too long and it touches the top grey fan.

(I don’t know why I’m writing this here but sorry to anyone offended or smth)

So like it says, I'm looking at building my first 5" from parts and was curious if people had done any 5" builds with this tech. The VTX all seem to top out at 200mw so perhaps it's better smaller drones? I'd love to hear from some experienced builders who have done this or why not. Thanks

Made a post 3 days ago regarding HDZero Goggles 2 & the battery compartment, after finally getting a response from DHL, they told me it was due to a failed security inspection? has anyone had this issue before? Currently living in EU.

I’ve build a Kayoumini with a HDZero AIO15 FC and I’ve notice I get a lot of video noise when throttling. I have it paired with a hd lux camera running on channel 1 at 200mw. Using the supplied AWG cables for the camera. Using TrueRC antenna combo.

I’ve started with RCinpower GTS 1203 motors, with the default pigtail cable with the original capacitor and antenna. The punch out in configuration was bad. So made some changes to see what would help.

I changed the capacitor to a 1000uf ruby 35v rated on the tail and changed the antenna to a generic rchp one. As per manual instruction, antenna was layout away from pcboard. In addition,I’ve also drop down in motor size to 1103 spark motors. At this stage, although the changes did help, it did not compare to some of the online videos which appear excellent. Interesting, adding a capacitor directly to the power pads on the board did help, but just an odd spot for it. Video feed is way better when throttling, but doesn’t come close to some other videos in YB. The other factor would be antennas on the goggles, but is so odd since my test were done close proximity.

Is this a common thing? Anyone else experience this?

I've been having weird VTX issues. I set the vtx to 200mW in betaflight, but it defaults to 25mW every time. On my last video I posted, the vtx power output shows 0W.

It also seems to be in pit mode most of the time until I arm, which isn't a big problem. Just annoying.

I have updated the VTX firmware using the goggles to aio connector. Low power disarm is off in betaflight.

If I enter the vtx menu on the drone, I can change it there but it will default back to 25 every time.

Does anyone have any tips to get it to default to 200mW?

I've had no issues like this on my air65 or 75.

I’m having issues with my google2. I can only receive analog signal. When I try to connect my hdzero vtx it’s only a black screen. On the top right of my osd the four signal strength indicators only the top right and bottom right shows signal received . The top left and bottom left shows no signal at all.

Hello, i have an issue with my goggles 2, when i use the scroll well it skips multiple options. It is not just a little over scroll but the skipping is completely random and sometimes even goes backwards when i scroll forward. I basically have to gamble to get to the right channel or the right option. I have applied the latest firmware with the emergency update but no luck. Does anybody know another fix or should i contact hdzero? Thanks for any info.

So with the HDzero expansion being end of life, it is appears a rare and a hard to get item. There are good, existing documentations online regarding the pinout layout for the HDzero expansion slot. It breaks down the video, audio, power, ground pins. It does appear we can simply connect the corresponding pins directly and bypass the expansion accessory to get it to work with any analog module. It is totally doable and people have been having success. I been wondering if we can make some diy kit that can be easily remove in and without manually inserting pins into the hoes.

Does anyone know what pin header size is used for the expansion? I’ve only seen online 2.54mm size. I believe the spaces are much tighter than this.

There does appear to be existing 3D printable shell of the expansion slot. This would help resolve the separate part of the puzzle.

What are people sorting to on this? Is HDzero coming out with a solution for those who wish to use an external analog module?

Complete beginner here working on my first build (AOS 5 V5, 5” setup) and I’ve hit a wall with the VTX install.

I’m using the HDZero Freestyle V2, and I’m a bit confused about how it’s supposed to be mounted. Do you mount it directly to the frame, or is there supposed to be a separate mount (like a TPU or “couch” mount)? I’ve seen mixed advice—some say direct mount is fine, others recommend soft mounting—but I haven’t been able to find a proper mount specifically for the FS V2.

Also running into an issue with the camera cable. I got the 120mm MIPI cable, but it seems too short for a clean build. I’ve read that it shouldn’t cross over the ESC or FC—so what’s the proper routing here? Should I be running it outside the frame instead?

Would really appreciate any guidance, especially from anyone who’s built with this frame/VTX combo. Trying to do this right the first time without frying anything 😅
