I had a really fun day yesterday! My college had a spring fling event and I met this furry there. I also went to the reopening of my local Asian grocery store and I met a Kemonomimi and a Lolita :D
I played at an ANZAC day service and had to be mat gal for the morning. Then went out with mates when everything finished. ANZAC day, lest we forget🫡. ANZAC day, for non-auzzies and non-kiwis is a day commemorating the boys lost in ww2, we wear poppies, the red symbolizes the blood spilled and the black the anguish of the wives who lost their sons, brothers and husbands. Pretty heavy day 2day, but i had a pretty good arvo. I played my flugel and got two photos of the after-timw of the service:D
im co-hosting this lovely gal meet! here are the deets <3 hope to see u gals there. you can dm me or contact celica by the user listed on the flyer to rsvp. there will also be a photoshoot the day after and the flyer for that has been shared by u/matcherinobandit
My gf will be hosting a fan meet/shoot this Momocon commemorating Gyaru culture! Please see the link below for more information!

It’s helpful to learn what gyaru is for beginners, but I don’t understand why the western gals are so obsessed with fitting into a box. It’s a pet peeve for me because substyles are just what was trending, because someone tried something new, something they liked and thought looked fashionable.
I think newbies have such a hard time with gyaru coords, because they think that it’s alternative fashion so it has to look ”odd” or really different, when in reality most gyaru outfits are really basic. I wish more newbies would know that gyaru outfits are just supposed to be stylish!
It used to be more popular to divide your outfit into sweet or bitter, basically soft colors and lace vs black and leather for example. It would be way more helpful to learn if you like heisei trends or reiwa trends more.
Obviously I don’t care if someone really likes to dress distinctly in a substyle, it’s good to love gyaru and be yourself! I just think it’s not good advice for newbies that they totally have to fit in a box, instead just look at magazines to learn what gyaru is and experiment until you know what looks good on you!
In magazines they often called outfits a certain substyle or they had fun names, because it makes the text interesting and it’s a part of graphic design.
my first attempt!! what can i do to make this look better? (the eyelashes are edited btw)
Hi so I love doing gyaru makeup, but only issue is Im honestly not too into gyaru clothing in the different styles. I think its really cute but i have more main styles that are more for me i enjoy. Im not sure if I can even be considered gyaru because all I do is the makeup, hair, and nails (i do less extra nails because of work and school like shorter and less designs but still very cute always decorated, and my hair is 4c and short so its hard but i leave my hair out curly then do a sticking up side pony with a big bow)
For clothes I normally dress kogal to school(i 90% of the time wear skirts, cardigans, collared shirts, all types of leg warmers in any weather summer or winter, ties, hair clips, bows, hoop earrings, etc) which IK is not a real substyle!, but normally I do that, and other times its kawaii fashion, lolita on occasion outside school, and my own personal style mostly(personal style is still skirts never pants, but more variety in tops and outfits)
I have been trying to get more gyaru clothing like I buy more tight fitting tops and off shoulder and cute gyaru like clothes but im just not totally into it (its still fun to wear tho) since out of all the substyles i cant find clothing i like truly LOVE, and i also bought a fake tail as well, but i really dont fit into any substyle. honestly not sure what to do tbh.
i want to go all out gyaru this fall when i go off to college but im kind of stuck because i love gyaru but its just i cant get into the clothing much and when people ask what type of gyaru id be considered its really none and i have nothing to say.. 😅
sry i know its not rlly a question but like basically what should i do when i love the hair, makeup, nails for the most part but like not the clothing as much i guess? i just keep trying to find a substyle that suits what i wear already or is similar to mine but i just kinda cant. if anyone can rec a good substyle pls do!
Hello! This oc of mine is for a random story idea I had in my head for a while, which is a maid place whose maids are secretly toxic sea monsters based off actual sea creatures! This one is inspired by the ‘Flamboyant Cuttlefish’ and I chose this one be THE gyaru maid.
Mainly, I want some advice anyhow since I’m not sure how to balance the gyaru style with also making sure she has references to the Flamboyant Cuttlefish. Because after taking a break and looking back at the drawing, I‘m not sure if it screams gyaru really… Any advice would be appreciate! :D (Except actual art advice, I’m trying…)
Also, I want some more sea creatures I can turn into gyaru maids, so please suggest some! :D
