Should we play golf?

My spouse and I live somewhere where golfing is a prime networking hub. We know friends and relatives who play, but we don't really do it. It's not our thing. But now that we've started a business, people have been telling me to just join and be present because the network is worth it. Should we do it? Is it expensive?

Newbie here! :)

Hello I’ve been thinking of finding a new hobby in golf. I have an impression that it’s going to be a costly hobby so I hope to keep my expenses at minimum as much as possible. I’m from las pinas and I’ve found south point driving range so far.

With that asking if it’s necessary to have a coach or can I simply learn as I go? Like can I simply pay the minimum buckets and tee girl for starter 2 hours? I haven’t seen any post bout this but can golf clubs or saddle (whatever it’s called to throw the balls) be rented as well?

Please note I also do research and been watching plays and tutorials but inputs would also be helpful.

Update: upon further searching it seems it really is a costly hobby haha. I’m really keen to learn but i would also understand if this sport isn’t simply within my budget at the moment.

Tips for first timers playing in the fairway

Hello guys! Me and my friends will be playing tomorrow at Intramuros Golf Course for our first fairway experience. We’ve been grinding sa the range for the past 4 to 5 months while taking lot of golf lessons before finally deciding na gusto na naming maglaro sa course.

Do you guys have any tips or suggestions on what we should do, bring, or avoid for our first time on the fairway? Any advice would be appreciated! Thank you!

Recommendation

Recently tried a driving range and instantly got interested in golf. I asked Tower Golf Trading for recommendations — which of these two do you think I should buy?

Fairway Caddie Fee

Hi! I just want to gauge how much is the ethical/typical amount to give a caddie for 9 and 18 holes - do you consider how much the caddie fee is already?

I recently played at army and I thought that the caddie fee was included in the payment I made, apparently it wasnt, I was initially going to tip 600 then apparently caddie fee palang yun (in my head 600+600), I didnt have much cash on me so I ended up giving 1000 total instead (600 caddie fee + 400 tip)

Caddie was pretty good, medjo masungit nung start but helpful naman overall tapos okay naman magbasa. Im new to this so I just want to know if okay ba yun or mababa, I dont want them naman to feel unappreciated or shortchanged

Please let me know your thoughts/ golf practices and etiquette on these things

Help a newbie out pls

Tldr: i gave my caddie 1k for 18holes (600cf+400tip) and idk if thats a decent amount

2021 P790 or 2025 P790 (pic for attention only)

So im selling my 2025 qi irons for 48k but still negotiable or to be traded with P790. It is 5-P.

I had an offer to be traded with 2021 P790 4-P with NS950GH shaft. I think i will require him to add konting money or no?

Also, a P790 2025 being offered to me for 49k but 5-P. But the shaft is Project X 5.5. Medyo mabigat pero laban na hahahaha

Yung qi ko is 85grams yung 2021 p790, 95. Yung 2025 p790 asa 115 grams.

Can y’all help me decide?

Just want to open up a discussion.

  1. What is your club?
  2. What is your favorite thing about it?
  3. What is your least favorite thing about it?
  4. Overall, is it worth the membership? Why or why not?

Beginner

Hi! My goal this 2026 is to find a hobby. I really want to give golf a shot because it is near our house. I bought a secondhand beginner set (which i think is pretty old).. I am planning to take golf lessons, how many sessions do I need? (golf is really kinda pricey lol)

This is what I only know
grip, half swing, uses of each club

Multifocal contact lenses for golf use.

Meron optometrist here or anyone who plays with multifocal contact lenses? I was told there’s a learning process, brain/eyes need time to get used to the lenses.

Madali lang ba? Is it safe to drive sa first time using it? I wear glasses most of the time, only wear contacts when playing sports or when out in sunlight na need mag sunglasses.

Hi I would like to know if it’s worth it to invest on this set as a beginner. Im on a budget and i don’t have the patience to look for a pre-owned set on fb marketplace. I also live in the province, this is my best option to buy a set. (In terms of logistics and to reduce the possibility of being scammed)
