We're taking over!

We're taking over!

Pulled up to a playground in San Francisco yesterday and was surprised to see THREE other Globes already parked on the racks. Mostly I see Rad Powers and Terns around here, so it was fun to have a little Globe Gang going.

Got ours a couple of weeks ago and are already at 80 miles. The kids are loving it. (Spider-Man helmet is us.)

One of my favorite videos

Took our little fluffy boy out for a ride on the front rack 😻

He got a little nervous over 10 mph, but he loved all the sights & smells

motor issues?

I’m curious if other folks have had any issues with their motor? I have put about 5200 miles on the bike in 10 months which i know is probably far beyond what most folks here are asking of their bikes. recently I have felt the bike has been jerking when I use the assist in situations it has not previously - really working hard to get up hills and not as smoothly as before. before i take it into the shop i was hoping to get a sense if this is something folks experience, when it started, and if it is expected/fixable.

Let’s talk about seats 🍑

I replaced the default saddle with an Ergon SMC, which is good for mountain biking and sort of a hybrid seat. But now I’m wondering about more like a Touring saddle that’s a little wider would be nicer for more upright posture. I also had looked at the Brooks C19.

I know saddles are personal, but curious if most folks go for something pretty wide / flared out, or more like an MTB seat.

I also need to get a suspension seat post for sure, but I will say the Ergon seat already feels so much better.

V2 kickstand

Recently took my bike in to get the kickstand replaced and they said they used the new v2 version. Is there a way to confirm that?

Only questioning them since the tech had no idea what I was talking about initially and they just took it off of another Haul they had in stock since their shipment had no ETA.

Thanks!

Buying Used - Need Tips!

Found a woman locally selling one for $1200. Looks very clean. Will see what kind of mileage is on the odometer tomorrow. If this woman has the bike connected to her app do I need her to like, relinquish it to me? What else do I need to be giving a keen eye too besides whether it throttles, brakes, shifts, and cycles in all the assist modes smoothly? Thank you!

My Tile Pro Tracking Solution for Globe Haul

I know this isn't for everyone, but I'm an Android user and a recent owner of a Globe Haul. I see a lot of cases for Apple trackers but it gets limited for the very non-conforming Android trackers out there. I have also been frustrated about the size of Android trackers that make it difficult to conceal them. I didn't want to place a tracker in an obvious location like under the seat, or under the water cage. When I got the Specialized Turbo basket and was installing the MIK adapter, I realized that there may be some room to play with a mount hidden in the underside of the basket, and within the frame of the adapter.

Tile Pros suck because they are big, and typically not easily concealable. The tile won't fit into the underside grid of the Turbo basket. What I was able to do was create a platform by building up the base of the basket to make a flush surface within the frame of the MIK adapter, then adhere the Tile Pro between the frame and the release mechanism. It fits perfectly and is absolutely not visible when the basket is installed.

Yes, someone can just remove the basket and the tracking is defeated... I get that; I just think it's more likely that if the bike is taken it will be on there long enough that I'll be able to locate where it went to recover it. Layers of security, blah blah blah.

I get to use my Tile Pro with my Android phone, and didn't think I could without being obvious. I'm actually happy with what I came up with, at least enough to share.
