Why does Girls’ Last Tour remind me of the movie The Road?

I’ve been thinking about how The Road and Girls’ Last Tour are kind of similar, even though they feel completely different.

Both are about traveling through a dead, post-apocalyptic world where humanity is basically gone. There’s almost no food, no society, and everything feels empty.

But the tone is completely opposite.

The Road is really dark and hopeless. Every moment feels dangerous, and it’s all about survival and fear.

Girls’ Last Tour feels calm and quiet instead. Even though the world is dead, Chito and Yuuri still enjoy small things like food, conversations, and exploring.

It feels like both stories are asking the same question:

“What keeps people going when everything is gone?”

One answers with survival and love.

The other answers with small moments of happiness.

Does anyone else see the connection, or am I overthinking it?

Wallpaper edit I made of Ch43 Pg11

Was feeling nostalgic about glt. As soon as I saw this page I had to make a wallpaper out of it. I used the page from the internet archive scan of glt.
