Do any of you regret attending GULC?
Did you take on a serious amount of debt and regret that choice or do you think it was worth it for your experience at GULC? I don't know what I don't know and would love to hear from current students or alums.

Just paid my first seat deposit to Georgetown without having received any merit scholarship. I applied with a 3.7low and 17mid and had kind of expected a small award? I also filled out their optional merit scholarship request form, providing info about my financial background and the half ride I received at a “peer school” (WashU, but I didn’t name drop), and even followed up on the decision email informing me that I had not been selected for scholarship funding. My overall cycle outcomes were UVA ($0) and half-rides to WashU, GW, and ND. Is there any hope?
Is Chicago pretty accessible with median grades or mainly nyc/dc?
Just got into gulc as a transfer and I want to participate in the writing competition, however I’ll be working during the time period. How manageable is it to do the writing competition in 14 days if you are working?
Are study abroad programs (specifically London) pretty competitive, or can pretty much anyone go overseas?
Definitely not adding a selfie btw.
I have an offer to start the evening program this upcoming school year but won’t be able to leave my job until after my 3E year. Would this impact my ability to land a biglaw position? I understand the recruiting timelines have moved up, don’t know if that also applies to the evening program.
Is it feasible to commute from Baltimore? anyone done it?
Do you think it will make GULC less competitive in the coming years? Less attractive to employers? Do you think the admin cares and is taking steps to fix it?
Genuine question. Not gonna get into it but had a rough semester for personal reasons. Barely went to class, this one especially. Barely brought myself to write 1.5k words that vaguely touched on some issues and did a little analysis.
Luckily, I opted to grade it P/F earlier in the semester, but granted how awful that just went, I’m genuinely wondering, can you fail a P/F graded class here? Does anyone know anyone who did or stories of people who did?
Could someone please explain the difference a bit more
Any tips for GULC? I’m currently on the regular waitlist. I had a group interview in early fall, and since then I’ve sent multiple LOCIs, an updated résumé, and an additional letter of recommendation. However, I haven’t received any feeler emails or calls. Is there anything else I can do at this point to improve my chances?
Has anyone visited GULC while on the waitlist? Is it typical for applicants to stop by the Admissions Office and introduce themselves when seeking out the self-guided tour? Any tips or advice would be appreciated to make the most out of the visit!
Hi! I’m currently making my final decision for next year and I’d really appreciate hearing about current students’ experiences. What are your favorite things about the school? What are your least favorite things? Do you have any regrets with your choice?
I’m an incoming 1L looking for an apartment preferably within walking distance. With that being said I’d still rather err on the side of affordability, if possible. Open to any suggestions!
Edit: I’m also open to roommates if anyone else is looking for one!
Incoming 1L. What was your experience at Gewirz? Also, what is the difference between the updated and not updated rooms? Worth the extra cost?
Is anyone interested in getting a letter moving around among current students and alumni asking the school to increase the LRAP income cap from $75,000 to something far higher? I believe that level was put in place in 2009. Accounting for inflation, that amount today is $115,000.
Beyond inflation, the program should be rolling in cash right now. It hasn't had to pay the bulk of the LRAP funds since COVID as people have been in forbearance for much of that period. At the same time it hasn't had to pay anything, the stock market (and, thus, I assume the money that funds LRAP) has ballooned.
It's time for Georgetown to increase this paltry amount and support its alumni.
Hello, trying to decide whether to attend versus another school. How hard is it to get a clerkship from GULC and if it’s really difficult compared to other peer schools, why?
