Window tint Q

When we test drive the EX-5 the demo model we drove had tinted windows all ‘round. We take delivery early next week and I’m making a booking to have the windows tinted and ceramic paint protection applied. Does anyone know whether the rear windows already have privacy glass? Obviously I’ll only to the 2 front if that’s the case. But as I said, the demo we drove had all of them tinted already so I can’t remember.

For various reasons I’m not inclined to get the dealer to do the job.

Dealership Negotiations & wait lists

Given the petrol climate and increase in EVs being purchased - will I have much luck asking the dealership for negotiation on the inspire model?

We are potentially looking to buy this coming week.

Is there wait times?

Only bought second hand before so new world for me

Promotional charger

How is everyone received their promotional fast charger. I was told by dealer that they will submit VIN to Geelly after car purchase so that the charger will be delivered later on.

With more EV options hitting the Aussie market, where does the EX5 sit in terms of price vs features? Does it feel like a strong value pick or are there better alternatives?

When to expect OTA 1.2?

I got my 2026 EX5 extended range from dealer early April. The car is pretty solid and I'm enjoying every ride. However I still can't use Android auto which I believe is in Flyme 1.2. Do you folks how I can request for OTA updates?

Delaying an order

Ordered a EX5 inspire on novated lease through a dealership and delivery is end of June. Since the order some bad stuff has happened with our house and I likely need to sell. Could still go ahead with the car but ideally a few months of breathing room before it starts coming out of the salary would be great. Has anyone ever delayed their order? I've looked at cancellation and can't get a fixed idea of costs seems like it might be the $500 deposit plus unknown fees?

by experiences welcome

I’ve had my EX5 for about a month now and today encountered the first thing that really has bothered me about the cruise control. I happened to be driving towards the rising sun on the highway and the cruise control cancelled and then would not activate at all on either setting. I assume because of the bright light on the front sensors for adaptive or whatever.

Anyone else had this issue?

I’m looking for product recommendations for cup holder expanders that actually fit in both slots at the same time.

I already tried the options at Supercheap Auto, but they were too bulky and hit each other, so I couldn't get them to sit flush. I need something with a slimmer top or an offset base so they don't overlap. If you’ve bought a specific brand and successfully fit two side-by-side, which ones are they?

Proximity Sensors - No sound?

Just picked up my EX5 Complete '27. When I park in my garage, the car makes zero sound to alert me I am getting close to the front wall. I parked 2cm away and it scared me there was no warnings at all. Is this normal? Does anyone know if there is a setting for proximity sensors? I am coming from a very loud Volvo with long tones if getting close. I never thought I'd miss that sound but here we are lol.

I'm considering buying a Geely EX5 in South Africa, but am a bit wary.

Geely entered the market in South Africa in the mid 2000s with the Geely LC and Emgrand EC7 and a couple others but ended up abandoning it when the importer liquidated around 2009.

They're obviously back now, this time as an OEM and I believe have plans to expand from 40 dealers across South Africa to 120 dealerships by next year which is encouraging.

But coming back to my question - how long has Geely been in Australia? What has your brand experience been like? How have you folk found aftersales support?

Edited to add : I'm a South African, living in South Africa. There is no huge Geely community here for me to draw on for experience, hence me asking in an Australian community. Volvo has been here for a long time but I don't think Geely's acquisition has had a material impact on Volvo South African operations.

Tyre for EX5 Inspire Good Year 235/50/R19 Efficient Grip Performance SUV is not available in Australia.

Got puncture near shoulder in one of the rear tyre. The tyres are still new with less than 1000km.

What do you recommend?

Replace just one with different thread pattern and compound? Or both in rear axle? Which tyre model?

Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that the driving experience especially the steering gets noticeably stiffer at motorway speeds? It feels fine under 60 km/h, but beyond that, it becomes too heavy.
