So we all are obviously car nuts…

… but do you consume any media concerning cars? For example I enjoy racing games and Anime featuring cars. My absolute favorite being Initial D. Would be fun to get a little exchange going with you all.

More spotted in the wild

I just discovered this sub so I FINALLY have a place to post pics I’ve taken over the past few years of cars I’ve seen around Chicago.

What is she driving?!?

I randomly happened to see this TMZ post about Meryl Streep and Martin Short and it has this picture of her driving. Usually I can identify a car from bits like this (door mirror signal repeater, chrime strip on door handle, unique upholstery perforation pattern) but this one has me totally stumped. I was thinking one of the Buick SUVs because of the door handle chrome, but haven't been able to find a model that matches the other features. Same with Mercedes....

HELP, FELLOW GEARHEADS! It has been annoying the hell out of me that I can't figure out what this car is!!

This guy

My journey to this car is long and a boring story involving a DUI, years of not having a car, two years worth of sobriety, and a coworker and friend being super supportive and replacing her car about the same time I realized I'd saved enough money to contemplate driving again. She gave me a really good deal on this.

I didn't realize how much I missed getting to work on my cars, and this car has given me a few opportunities to remember. In addition to plugging a tire, I've replaced the switch for the driver's side seat motor, the passenger side mirror, and minutes ago the evap purge solenoid. That one was fun because literally 90% of the job was getting two bolts out and back in. I want to find and fix the sunroof leak, but I'm a little scared of the tape I used to temporarily seal it. I wish I'd bought shitty tape, but alas, no.

The operation was a success

Only 12 hours start to finish will get you a rebuilt sunroof mechanism for your trusty E61 E53 E83 or E91. Plus also some blood magic
