How are you all winning fr

I can’t seem to get past stage 3 or 4. I can’t seem to figure out how to have a viable economy setup, so I buy pieces and might lose one or two in a stage then have to spend the small amount I get back on more pieces. This seems to be exaggerated when I’m looking for specific pieces, such as a king and a rook for castling’s gambit. I’ll spend most of my money rerolling the shop or hoping to get them out of piece wheels. Then I don’t have enough to enchant tiles or get a locked gambit I wanted 5 rounds ago. Any tips, or is it just a skill issue lol

Crazy perma-skip build

Haven't seen this been posted, apologies if it's already been discussed:

Perma-skip with knight moving like rook to constantly threaten 2+ pieces, if that fails just capture on a black square (or 2/3 gamble on white square - not that I ever needed that).

Had games of 13+ skips with just a knight.

Gambonanza broke my iPad

The wheel to choose new figures burnt into my display. Does someone know how to fix this?

Bad habits with chess

I'm thinking of getting this game and just wanted to ask - as someone who's just hit 1000 elo on chess.com, will this game give me any bad habits or make me worse at chess? Or is it completely different and it'll be fine?

Thanks!

SUPER BUGGED AND BROKEN: Ghost pieces + gold tiles = permanent pieces (and weird stuff)

So, you can get permanent pieces by turning ghosts into gold. But I've been getting a bug where sometimes the the pieces can't move because there are 2 pieces in the same tile (you can see on the video, there is a queen i can't move). I think this happens because I turned the ghost created by the gambit that makes a ghost copy when landing, since this ignores the piece cap. So you can end the game with pieces over the cap on board. When it recollects your pieces at the end of the game some even stay on enemy side. If your piece is over an enemy piece you can still capture it but can't move your own piece and enemy can't capture it, making you nearly invincible (while you aren't against hikaru, you still have pieces to place and rumble doesn't throw that tile).

Still this combo is so brocken that the first thing I tend to do is have a ghost tile and a gold tile early so I can farm an extra piece.

I guess this will be fixed by making gold ghosts despawn at the end of game (unless this was intended).

Most enjoyable built so far

The protect tiles feel very strong compared to the rest and with the gambit that makes it last 2 turns just becomes unbeatable also the satisfaction from not being able to lose is very nice

Initial impression is that you have to gamble on the CPU making bad moves

So I'm only about an hour in and would welcome push back. My sense is that the game is very rng heavy, and not based on the shop, but based on the cpu's moves. Meaning you're often playing "hope chess".

I think this is especially true when the cpu has an invincible piece. You're kinda praying that it doesn't take full advantage of it. Turn skips can get around this and are clearly super strong, but that feels a bit polarizing.

No Stalemate Bug?

I am playing gambonanza for the first time and had a really good run that I don’t want to give up. I had a gambit that gives a pawn every game, one that promotes another pawn when one is taken, and one that gives 3 pawns when a queen is killed (sick synergy). However, I made a mistake early on in this game, so I was intentionally trying to put myself in a stalemate to restart. I got to this point where my pawn is trapped and can’t move, but no statement screen appeared. Is this a bug? I don’t want to restart if I don’t have to.

Finally beated Knight difficulty with this fun combo

Super fun run! Pawns were clearly overpowered this time haha.

At the start of every round, I got 1 Pawn.

Pawns could also move like Knights.

Capturing with and promoting Pawns guaranteed a skipped turn for the opponent.

There was also a 33.3% chance of receiving the same piece I promoted into.

Kinda snowballed this one

Time to reach King difficulty, I guess
